    900mb CDR's

I bought some 900mb blank CDR's couple of weeks ago, tested one earlier and my drive (or prehaps it's Nero & Roxio's CD Creator) only recognises it as 702mb, would there be something in the burning software settings/options I would need to make the software aware of ?. They only cost me a few quid, if anyone has a new"ish" burning drive prehaps I could send you one (don't want it back) and you could test it out for me to make sure I've not been ripped off.

    Cheers.

Have you tried updating the bios for your cd writer?

There might not be an official update out for your drive. But ther may be hacked versions about. You'll have to search for one of these

i use 800mb cdrs quite a lot, and know for a fact my drive (a samsung one i've had for maybe two months) supports them (and 900mb ones, if i had any), but the lastest version of nero still reports them as being around the 700mb mark. i've no idea why... then again, if you just turn overburn on and disable any automatic upper-size-limit warnings (i'm not sure if nero has any, but i seem to remember one program or another auto-cancelling an 800mb disc once it had gotten about 720mb in, so it's worth checking), it should burn the full disc absolutely fine. i've burned full 800mb discs (and overburned a bit on top of that ) with nero thinking they were 700mb all along...

If your using Nero 5 it will not support them, you will need to find an unofficial patch for it.
