Sorry mate, but I can't give any usefull help to your question.

What I can say though, with unreserved praise, is that the guy who made those sticks on the site you linked to must be related to Norm Abrahms or summat. The level of construction in those sticks is quite fantastic.

Hah.. someone else has been drooling over Catch22's sticks too I see.

I've been thinking about building a arcade control panel for ages. I hope to get a full arcade machine to put it in when I get the money too. I talked with the guys on www.arcadecontrols.com forums and most of them build them exclusively for MAME but they had a suggestion for easy console plug and play.

They suggested getting an X-Arcade PCB. The full stick itself is a bit **** with all the bat/paddle stick that yanks like but you can just get the PCB and the connectors separately. It's programmable and you know you can get adaptors for new consoles you buy. Otherwise your going to have to rewire pads everytime and it'll be a pain switching things.

Xgaming® is one of America's longest-running producers of video game hardware and award-winning, commercial-grade arcade machines, with 20+ years of joy delivered into hundreds of thousands of homes.

I don't know how much the PCB and the connectors are separately. They don't list the prices on the site. You'd have to e-mail them and get a quote.

Catch22 has a link to a Japanese site called Sanwa that provide the proper Naomi cab sticks and buttons. There's a site in the Uk which do pretty good ones too but they're only available in red.
We design and manufacture high end arcade interfaces, trackballs, spinners, light guns, pushbuttons, human interface devices, video components, and other arcade accessories.

By programmable I mean that you can set the direction and punch buttons etc. to whatever you want without having to rewire everything. They'll come programmed in correctly by x-arcade anyway. I'm not a very technical person and I haven't tried any of this stuff myself yet so if you're looking to build something then have a good look around www.arcadecontrols.com to get more information. The X-arcade isn't really a bad buy. I just only like Japanese sticks and most people don't care.
