http://www.infinitymod.com/1009.htm for the install diagrams/feature list.

You should note that if you have an NTSC PS2 the PAL MXL2 won't work - you'll have to track down an NTSC version of the chip.

Anyone used the new Matrix Infinity chip yet? Has a good featurelist, but I've heard a rumour that it can sometimes take up to 10 seconds before it boots a disc... :S

@ Papercut - if you're planning on fitting to a v7 or lower, you should be fine - it's just pads and surface mount components that need soldering to. If it's a v9 or v10 - and I say this with all due respect - unless you're an expert solderer and have a 1mm or > tipped temperature controlled iron, then I really wouldn't risk it. The DVD controller points solder to either vias (about 0.8mm across, and very close together) or the IC legs (about 0.3mm wide and 0.3mm across) - the wrong iron, too much heat or a solder splash in the wrong place and the PS2 is a paperweight

@ Yoda - I was sent a prototype and it's amazing. Does exactly as they claim. I torture tested mine with everything possible I could throw at it and it works like a charm. The "10 seconds to boot " thing is not a fault at all - the Infinity, like the DMS3, uses a controller to modify the boot order (hold down the start button to fast boot, hold down X to force PS1 mode etc). If the Infinity can't see a controller plugged into either port of the PS2, it checks a few times before using the default boot order, hence the 10 second delay. As long as a controller is plugged in to either port, it'll boot at the normal speed, no delays.

It's an excellent mod, and as soon as I get more stock I'll offer it on my site

I already fitted a Messiah 2 to my V4, so should be fine. I am teh expert s0lder0rz!

Looking at the MX-L2 wiring, I should be able to re-use the existing bios connections...
