Asian/Japanese PS2

Will THIS play other countries games, other than Japanese?

I only ask because it states

"Region: 2 Region Two - South Africa/Greenland/Middle East/Europe/Japan"

And I'm not sure if that'll be the same for games as well as DVDs! I'd rather it played American games but oh well!

No, the region stated there applies to DVDs only. This PS2 will play any game with the marking "NTSC-J". This includes Korean and Asian games as well as Japanese games.

It would need to be chipped to play North American games.

Would I be able to get it modded as normal, or would it need a different thing, being Japanese?

It can be modded as normal with a messiah chip or the latest chip on the market.
