aaaaarrgghh my Panasonic Q is dead

The unthinkable has happened. My housemate at uni decided to move my Q and set it up in our lounge, only problem is he used a normal power cable he found lying in my room, one from my digital camera i think, and it has been frazzled.

Can this be fixed? a new power supply or something? please tell me it's not gone for good.

The power supply is dedicated, but there is a chance something easily replaceable (like a fuse) has blown.

You'll need to find someone who knows their console electronics to take a look, maybe www.londonconsole.com could help.

Another option is to find a broken Q and try to merge the two of them Frankenstein's monster style.

Oh, and smack your housemate for me, will ya?

      My thoughts exactly.

I would be absolutely livid if it was my Q

I'd recommend spiking his drink, bundling him in the boot of the car then dumping him in the North Sea .

If that's a bit extreme, smash something of his like a TV, with a hammer, then say 'I thought that's what you had to do to turn it on' 8) .

It happened a few days ago but i've been so stressed with finishing my dissertation i havent had the time to think about it.

I've finally finished it now (massive weight off my shoulders) and the fury is starting to creep in.

I'm kind of hoping it wont be too bad though. The machine didnt actually making any fizzing noises or start smoking. I think what must have happened is that it wasnt actually powered up properly. Q's always go into standby mode as soon as they are plugged in so i'm hoping that this might have actually saved it from total destruction.

Like papercut said i'm hoping it is just a fuse, i've emailed london console to see what they have to say about it.

Thanks for the other advise though guys, i might try all of the suggestions given. I havent spoken to him since it happened, a bit of an awkward situation when they cost about ?400 quid to replace these days.
