Recommend me a First Person Shooter (any platform)

No matter how many games come out, I always seem to find the First Person Shooter genre my favourite, cant explain why really, but other than Third Person RPG / Adventure games to me they are the most popular genre to keep coming out.

Recommend me a First Person Shooter, dosent have to be a latest release, it can even be a game that is not out yet and can be on any platform.

Far Cry's the definite - you won't regret it.
You've got a while yet before the Big Three of Half-Life 2, Doom III and Halo 2, with possible interference from the likes of Stalker: Shadows of Chernobyl, Killzone and TimeSplitters 3. They are all ones to look out for.
Counter Strike: Condition Zero's also a possibility.

I think he wants non-common stuff.

Immercenary (3DO) - nothing else like it. 256+ cyber people roaming around in a giant city arena. You start at the lowest rank, as you kill them, you go up in rank, with the object of defeating "Perfect 1"
Very cool cyberpunk setting, surreal imagery (think Neuromancer) and a cold dark setting. As you wonder the city you pick up weapons and discover where the best fighters lurk. Enter their lair to defeat them gaining a boost to abilities and rank increase. Plenty of interesting features.
Graphic style: Flat sprites in a detailed 3D polygon world.

Alien VS Predator (Jaguar) - the big daddy, and revolutionary in its day. 3 giant space ships all docked, all yours to explore. Very faithfull to the films with regards to most content. Enemies and power ups randomly appear making each time you load the game exciting and fresh. Very chilling. 3 characters to play as, with different themes for each. Stealth for the Predator, action for the marines, and wierd stuff for the alien.
Although quit aged by now, a great game worth tracking down.

3D Monster Maze (ZX81) - The FPS that started it all, tense and exciting, features spacialist features such as only melee combat and no guns. Can you escape, or will the T-Rex get you? For a real scare, turn the lights off, and turn the sound up loud. Still a classic all these years later, and easily playable thanks to emulation.

You've got it otaku84, First Person shooters that may seem dated now but even if they didnt make it to 'classic' status they are still a huge blast, I always remember buying Doom on the release day or the original Dark Forces on the old first Pentiums, even as far back as the Amiga days, Hired Guns (didnt they make a remake?)

            Any others peps?, Mark.

Try Outlaws on the PC. It's a spaghetti western themed FPS and is quite excellent if looking very dated now

Exhumed (Powerslave) for Saturn. It has platform elements but pulls them off beautifully. One if the best FPS ever.

I still remember playing GLQuake about a year after QuakeII came out, and thinking "so what did they change, exactly?".

NPRQuake is quite a fun way of enjoying it again:
