Remember thos REALLY cheap RGB leads I was getting...

    For PS2?

Blaze seem to be up to their same old tricks and are stamping their logo on them and selling them at higher prices. They are WICKED cables for the price tho man - perfectly fine quality and a RGB/Composite switch is included for DVD playback.

Another company is also stamping their logo on them and selling them included with a DVD remote.

You can recognise these cables instantly - the cable itself is transparent blue with 2 phonos connected all connections are gold. Blaze seem to sell any old cable as an RGB cable it seems - but this time the ones they are selling are seriously good for the money (I was getting them for ?4 before - they are ?10 to ?15 now)

      Good old Blaze...

They are good cables though - far superior to the alleged RGB I was using previously.

        I like that!

Blaze Alleged RGB cables are all that seems to be available in high street stores now!

I looked at 5 different cables and only 1 of them was wired correctly. The Blaze one had no connection to pin16 (so you need a TV which lets you manually select RGB mode, which is not stated on the box). 3 of them were NOT RGB cables at all, just standard AV and the remaining one was RGB but the image quailty was disgusting!

Thats pretty shocking. Surely they can get done by trading standards or something?

Tis true, me and Saur compared the Blaze to his old cable and my 5 year original PSOne RGb. The balze was far superior, thankfully I;ve ordered a new Ixos component cable so this doesnt affect me

I had the same story from my local Indie. Bought a ?15 cable only to find it was a composite in a RGB box... Taking it back it was the same story for the other twenty or so leads they had.

I remember feeling so pissed off at the time because they were asking for 15 quid for something which they know is wrong.

                Moral of the story:

Dont buy a cheap PS2 RGB cable unless it's clear blue - no idea WHO makes that cable but it's wicked (Blaze etc are just putting their name on it so they can extort). I have a feeling they just buy in any old cheap unbranded cables and package them again, they dont even know themselves how they are wired. For example most 3rd party Gamecube AV cables can be bought for under ?1 - but the repackaged ones sell for over ?10

                    Thats true!

                    It's disgustingly bad!

"Disgusting" can only mean good if used to describe a move or character! - Dont you study your grammar!!11!??!/1

Yeah, I got a Blaze lead like that - I sent an email to them to query it, and I got a reply saying that it was actually an S-Video cable.

I didn't see the point in explaining to the guy that it said "RGB" on the packaging, and that it wasn't even wired for S-Video!

                        Disgusting!

I've got one of the blaze cables - it looks very nice but has big problems with the switch for composite/RGB. Basically, it's very fragile. Both mine and my friend's blaze cables have had the switch broken. I've managed to jimmy it into permenent RGB mode but I'm afraid to touch it now. I'm stuck with playing DVDs on my computer.
