    Spam

Hi everyone, just hoping for a bit of advice if poss,

I'm constantly frustrated by the amount of spam im getting through my email, i today checked my inbox after about a week without doing so, and there was over 1500 emails, 99% which were from friends/business, it seems to be just getting out of control the amount of **** i get and its really pissing me off, the only way i know off stopping them is to manually select each message and blocking sender using outlook, and for some reason it wont let me either highlight multiple emails, or even block multiples, so as you can i imagine i dont have the time or the inclination to go throught one by one on over a 1000 emails (not to mention my computer is older than stone henge and grinds to a halt when i have more than 2 webpages open for example,

Anyway i'm hoping anyone kind enough has any useful ideas on how i con stop spam completely, i dont want to setup a new email account as everyone i know knows my current one including friends, workmates, not to mention any websites i may be registered with (the truth is i dont know what websites have my email, apart from here and play, maybe a few others.

Its late and i maybe babbling somewhat, but if anyone can help id be glad to hear from you

    Many Thanks, Kev

I don't know alot about them, but I know there are a lot of spam blockers available for outlook. The best thing to do is to either wait for someone to come on here and suggest one or google for ones that are recieving good reviews.

    Now, I'm off to bed

Well depending on who yr mail acc is with can you not access yr acc online, and not through OE for example, and then choose what you want filtered as spam or not (hmail and bt/yahoo do this for example)?

If not maybe try something like this:

Never used it myself but have had heard good things about it if yr having problems.

      Hope that helps...

I've used Mailwasher for a few years now (paid-up too; it's that good! Also, you get free upgrades for life). Well worth getting. I have it found easiest to block all email from certain countries (.jp, .kr, .ru, etc.). That filters out loads of it. In fact, I rarely get any these days.

Another useful tool is Spammotel (spammotel.com). This is a small download that creates unique email addresses that you can use for any purpose. These emails are forwarded onto your private email address. If you start getting spam on that unique email address, then you can just delete. Also, you can see who is selling your email details.
