VGI are a bit more expensive than places like Play-Asia but the service is great, with Mushi i got it on the Friday and its official release date in Japan was only the day before! Sometimes its worth paying that bit more for less hassle.

i know this isnt strictly following the thread, but videogameimports have jp points cards. i was just wondering if i got some could i use them to buy raiden through jp market place. I already have a jp silver account, on my machine(pal). or are they ip locked as they are in the games on demand section.

All JPN Games On Demand titles are IP and region locked. Even if you circumvent the IP lock, you still won't be able to play the games on a PAL console.

                      Thank you

Thank you for the warm messages from all over the world.
Espgaluda II Black Label Normal Edition is region free.
But I'm afraid new games after Espgaluda II Black Label won't be region free.
I assure you that Espgaluda II Black Label Normal Edition will be the last region free game for the time being.

Shame but I think we were expecting it really.

I wonder what will happen with the future DLC?, Since Futari was region free the 1200 point DLC was available in all regions I hope they still keep this going as buying Japanese point cards is really expensive compared to the western ones.

A total loss all round. Our loss because we won't get to play them. Their loss, because, I don't know, but it surely isn't about money, obviously they have enough of it to not worry about selling something worldwide.

Or as others have pointed out, because they maybe doing deals with Western publishers for the rights to sell them over here. Which will bomb badly (Death Smiles will sell next to nothing). And then you are back to square one again, Japanese only releases.

                          A strange world.

It's all academic anyway. Non of these games should have been released at retail in the first place. They would all have sold substantally more had they been released on XBLA.

That was their plan, though, wasn't it? Didn't Cave claim Microsoft weren't interested in publishing their shmups on XBLA?

It was 5pb who claimed that when they bought the rights to port DOJ and Ketsui. The director of XBLA has changed since then, so who knows what the current strategy is. I guess we'll find out when Cave submit Guwange for XBLA approval.
