If you approach it as kusoge and don't expect Symphony of the Night, you should enjoy it. The weapon degradation and limited ammo adds a certain amount of tactics to how you approach each fight, but save points where you restock ammo and upgrade are plentiful anyway, so it's not too much of an issue. I'm loving it and it's one of the most fun games I've played this year.

Quite a lot of the current exA games are available on other formats, but I understand part of the agreement is that the arcade version has to have a certain amount of exclusive content / features. I'm not sure what they're changing / adding in comparison to the Famicom version, but a new home version of any kind would be great.
