That gamepad looks a lot like the much maligned CD32 controller importaku, any good?

It's based off that one but feels a lot better to use it's identical to the one they used for the A500 mini however just like the A500 mini one it has limitations as certain speccy games feel clunky to play using a Dpad when they really needed a stick for leverage. Like playing zool on amiga as well with it the wall jumps are tricky to do without a stick.

Something i always wanted to do back when Snackworld was announced for 3DS at one point i had everything on preorder then they went and delayed the game that works with it all for several weeks and it was enough that i cancelled everything. Now 7+ years later i finally decided to grab some of it, enjoying the hell out of the english release but that version doesn't have the ability to scan jara & snacks into your game although they do keep the content in that the physical NFC stuff unlocked you just get it randomly once a day. I have to face the reality that i'll never be able to complete all 8 series as certain series on Amazon japan are not available the first 4 you can find cases of them dirt cheap so i'm going to hoover them all up each month. However series 5 to 8 are really REALLY expensive guessing the flooded the market with the older ones then as interest died off the later series were not printed as much. It's wild just how cheap it all is. A case of series 1 was like 900 yen the fairypon phone was 1100. The most expensive item besides the game was the big jara carry case at 3800yen. Plan on opening it all up at the weekend to see how what weapons/snacks i got however ii already know the seed rates are not meant to be super great so the rarest weapons need you to wade through many cases of them i'll see if anyones offering them for sale individually on amazon jpn. I'm getting that tabeoja feeling again where i dive off the deep endalthough i don't think i'll make a dedicated thread for this one.
Opened the carry case to see what the promo jara was like as it has the crystal axe in there, damn these things are really decent quality, actually part diecast metal for the core and the hook no wonder my parcel weighed 5kg lol
In between imported madness also a few domestics turned up, little kitty big city is super charming and the tetris forever collection is equally amazing worth it for the documentarys alone if you like tetris, it's a fantastic collection & like with atari 50 it really sets the bar of what a retro compilation museum should be. Found loop hero on eshop for like £3 i gave it a purchase because it was one that i was always curious about, found it really addictive fun so i grabbed the physical release.

Made a start on the Japanese version of snackworld so i have busted open the first 2 boxes of series 1 so i can use them with the game. Was gonna bust open the whole lot of them in a jara frenzy but they generate a lot of cardboard & plastic waste so i'm doing it in stages one series at a time as i collapse the boxes down etc.
Let the jara party start
You get 10 chests in one case and so far i have determined 5 will contain weapons & 5 will contain snacks (the crystal monster panel thingys)
Because the snacks are identical in shape & weight they had to take steps to stop Japanese people secretly opening a case and weighing all the boxes and swapping out all the weaopns. As the snacks all have the same weight so you could easily swap out all the weapons and be left with a bunch of snacks. How they did it is rather clever each box contains a few plastic weights that they shaped into characters from the game so these weights make the total weight upto a set one so you can't cheat by weighing them.
So far only got a few repeats from opening 2 cases, but in a good way the doubles work out as i was concerned that when they are on the keychain paint on the bits that are painted will start to rub off as it's metal against plastic so any doubles can get put on the keychain to use any that i have only one of i keep safe in the jara storage case.
They are seriously cool looking and nearly every single one is a mix of painted diecast metal & plastic really high quality painting too which makes sense as they cost 500yen a box originally so it puts them in the high end catergory of gacha.
Really nice details on them, like the mirror shield all that outer bit is diecast.
Only a few needed to complete series 1, first 3 are promo jara from various bits.
The snacks are kept in the little official case i bought for 600yen, actually really sturdy too think i'm gonna buy 3 more to keep the other series in.
Part of me is happy that i finally started grabbing this stuff because now later its a lot cheaper, for some series i can pick up a full case of 10 boxes for like 600+ yen instead of it's 6000 original retail price making trying to complete these sets a bit easier however shipping is brutal as with it been a bunch of metal the weight goes up. but also a bit sad as with leaving it so late some will be forever out of my reach unless i resort to yahoo auctions to fill in the gaps but im having a blast so far with these & the game.

One new import today fresh from france via pixnlove my first order from them in over a decade as i was wary after the history of nintendo drama. Glad to see they have improved since then.
Chants of Sennaar is one i have wanted to play, the artstyle grabbed my attention immediately. The fact it's a game where you have to learn the language like Tunic/Fez was something right up my street. Really nice edition the box folds out like some relic, nice & thick with magnetic closing. Contains a real replica of the in game language encyclopedia used to make sense of the world your in. Also some really nice art cards and an embossed certificate.
Also grabbed another local release Poppy's playtime as a triple pack physically. As i like the FNAF games this was a no brainer as it has the same vibe & one i have never played before completed first game in a single sitting but it oozes atmosphere.
