    Eurogamer http://eurogamer.net/ have put there first impressions on the single player.

    Got me all excited until I saw the release date... No matter how good this is, it'll be all about the Halo 2 at that time... Something for the PS2 fanboys or to be picked up later 2nd hand I think.

      Killzone isn't poor due to its technical failings, its poor (in MP) due to the poor design decisions.

      Scenery more than the high of a small step is impassable, I understand they are wearing heavy armour, but lifting there leg up a little surely isn't implausable.

      No acceleration on turning. A console FPS should integrate some form or acceleration when turning more than 90 degrees, being shot in the back due to the fact you haven't got you sensitivity high is bad design.

      The fact that enemies have no hit zones is crazy, shooting them in the foot has the same damage as shooting them in the head!

      Aiming retecules are massive, I understand that the PS2 analogues are flymsy and lack the ability the allow the player to accurately aim but they are taking the piss with them here. All you have to do is aim in their general direction.

      Poor spawn locations, poor weapon placements, bland level design (nor visually but in terms of structure) etc...

      I could list more problems, but I'd rather not waste more of my time...

      I really hope it is good in single player, but the multiplayer is pretty much already at a loss if its going to be remotely similar to this experience.

        plus a shotgun blast is one shot kill, yet a grenade launched right to the face isnt

          Yep the grenades are pretty much totally useless, not only does it take far to long to actually throw them, your characters throws like a girl meaning that it only travels 5m's and they do as much damage as a tickling stick.

            On the forums they've already said they are aware of the hit detection problems and gone into quite specific details as to why it happens.

              yeah beta i know. Hit detection is the least of its problems anyway.
              Thing is you can improve it tenfold but itd still only be as good as the xbox version of counterstrike (ie not that much good at all).

                Yes we know!!! I didn't mention any technical issues at all. I was talkign about fundemental design decisions which are wrong, and by beta such fundamentals rarely get changed as it would mean lengthy delays.

                Beta normally means 'feature' complete.
