XBOX Live Gamertag gone forever!!?

I am saddened, I was on the xbox live beta trial with gamertag ALLYOURBASE, anyhow I didn't bother playing live much after motoGP2 and months went by, m$ couldn't bill my CC because the CC number had changed (hehe)

I called them today hoping to pick up my account gamertag but they said the account was cancelled and as it was over 2 months they were unable to "wise it from the gvave" - dead annoying..... if i can't get it back what are other suggestions for a great gamertag? 8)

Same happened to friend of mine, if there is over 8 weeks between your Live renewals your gamertag is lost forever.

Tried: All Your Base (spaces between) ?

If the tag is "lost forever", can't you just reuse the name?

Well it is gone forever in the "it was used once so now no one can ever have it again even if we do still have your account details on our system mwwooohahaha" sense

No "All Your Base" is gone too (think it's considered the same name now)

Gamertags are not case sensitive but if you add spaces or a "2" at the end they are different to your original Gamertag. Basically anything with at least one character different to your original gamertag will be accepted (unless someone else has taken it)

Plus there's all the variations that people use. You can try stuff like:

xxAllYourBasexx

That kind of thing. I see people with those sorts of tags all the time. Is punctuation allowed? If so, there also the likes of:

_AllYourBase_
--AllYourBase--

etc.

This aside, isn't the whole All Your Base Are Belong To Us thing very much over and done with? Isn't any reference to it as much a crime as answering the phone with "Whassuuuuuuuuuuup?!"

I lost my original name due to my credit card expiring and then not putting new details in after my year subsciption was over.

Its just a shame that there are some people on my freinds list I can't play with anymore.
