Ferrari F355 Challenge Fastest Lap Times

The old lap times thread was lost with the old forum, so time to start a new one.

    Due to this game being out on Arcade/DC/PS2 and not wanting to alienate anyone, feel we'll have to state the following when submitting times;

    Name / Track / Time / System / Assists (on/off) / Settings
    eg: David Holliss / Motegi / 0:38.354 / PS2 / Assists On / Default or Adjusted Settings

    Kubrick 0'37"724 / PS2 / Assists On / Defualt Settings
    David Holliss 0:38.110 / PS2 / Assists On / Default Tuning
ZeroRisk 0:38.157 / DC / Assists Off / Default Settings
    Agent L 0:38.201 / DC / Assists On / Only Wing Changed

    Suzuka Short
    Kubrick 0'51"208 / PS2 / Assists / Default Tuning
    Agent L 0'53"903 / DC / Assists / Only Wing Changed
ZeroRisk 0:54.098 / DC / Assists Off / Default Tuning
    David Holliss 0:55.791 / PS2 / Assists On / Default Tuning

    Monza
    Kubrick 1'45"850 / PS2 / Assists On / Default Tuning

We should do yes. As times can be drastically different if the cars are setup for the circuit.
I'm gonna propose settings as standard to start with as some people new to the time attack will be posting times so far off pace that they'll lose interest straight away.

    Just an idea.

I'tll try and post some times tonight.

Ps. I will record actual times I make, not just read em off my mem vmu.
Better still, to make things more interesting, we could post our previous and current times.

Will edit original post to include settings.

Old and new records sounds good but confusing and a admin nightmare prehaps just stick with new ones for now and see how things progress.

      Cheers.

Right, I've done my homework on shifting techniques and have got a free w/e coming up (cos the gf is going on a hen w/e) so I'm gonna be thrashing this.

If I dont post any times by monday consider me a lot crapper than I think I am.

Had a (very) quick go last night:

                Suzuka Short - 0'55"049 / DC / Assists On / Default Settings

Now looks rubbish compared to Kubrick

Given this an hour or so this morning:

                      Motegi - 0'38"201 / DC / Assists On / Settings = wing change only
Suzuka Short - 0'53"906 / DC / Assists On / Settings = wing change only
                      Monza - 1'57"419 / DC / Assists On / Settings = wing change only
                      Atlanta - 0'31"986 / DC / Assists On / Settings = wing change only

The shift technique does make a difference but is a bit hit and miss i find.

ZeroRisk - 1'49'' at Monza - wow, where do I find 8 seconds? are the time between versions comparible if people dont use drift techniques?

I really don't know. It all depends on how fast you take the 4 chicanes throughout the circuit I think. It's so hard as if you get it even slightly wrong, you're screwed.
It's a shame we still can't go online with this game as you'd be able to see how I drive to get that time. There's still so much more to find in that track. This was only my fastest from playing on Grand Prix settings, (triple the laps), last night.
I kinda miz it up with drifting although I'm no master.
I dunno how close the versions are between DC and PS2. I'm almost tempted to get the PS2 version just to see if I can post quicker times although going from the sublime triggers on the DC pad to the analog buttons on the PS2 makes me feel a little sick... lol

Which shift method are you using?

It's not hit and miss at all if done correctly. Basically you are aiming to shift up twice and back down once as quickly as possible. The last gear of course you use the other shift method of releasing the accelerator just after changing to 6th and then getting back on it straight away. You should hear a duhduh sound.

Will keep trying Monza then but I haven't got the drift at all yet. Have you not changed the settings at all for that time on Monza? Even the wing?

I'm doing the release accelarator method of shifting all the way through the gears as I'm still playing in auto after 1,500Km! Sometimes I get the duhduh sound and it is faster but I haven't got the timing quite right yet through all the gears. Must try manual round Monza and see what happens - more times to be posted soon.

Settings are all standard mate. I've never once changed any of the settings to play this game so I dunno what my times would be if I did.....
Only do the release accel way on the change from 5th to 6th. 2 up 1 down is faster and more reliable anyway.
