I couldn't give a **** to be honest. The only thing that concerns and interests me is John Beaulieu's icon. Man I'd like to ... her in the ... and then ... what? Sorry got a little lost there.

Yanks you say? There does seem to be a lot of the little bastards running around. Bit like asking an engineer why Sony TVs are returned more than others. More of them. XBox being US and geared for a US teen audience may have a lot to do with it also. Would need a proper study into it I suppose. Typical uni waste of money study, that sort of thing.

I can be a cock when online (hell, I do a good enough job of it here) but we all get good days and bad days. Unfortunately you're only ever as good as your worst day. Don't believe me? Wait till you reach employment ;-)

I do tend to leave rooms when they are full of dickheads, which is awful when you think you've just read a book by glancing at its cover with your eyes partially covered.

Either way I'm not that much of a nob so if anybody wants a game (and a chat about things I like) the join me on Live. iloveannie is the user name that I have forever regretted (tell my wife and I kill you) and it doesn't matter about your nationality either.

Q: What's the difference between an Iraqi soldier and a British one?
A: Don't know? Then welcome to the US Air Force son!

my first xbox live experience last night, initially I didnt use the headset until I heard people asking if you're there.. so i banged on the headset and away I went with my only game.. Outrun 2 demo [come on play where's my frickin' game!!] so I started playing no problem, everyone seemed to be polite and tended to ask where you where from, how long you'd played the game etc... then next I join another game, all americans all just generally being vulgar, i'm no prude but I dont want to be told I take it up the ass and that I want to blow the guy who won.. anyway I carried on playing until I just got fed up of the annoying b@st@rds that where chanting, simulating have a w@nk and just being c@nts in general.. not the best start to xbox live!!.. but it didnt put me off, just made me play harder and kick their yankie asses!!

Americans are fine, i've met many nice people from the USA. I played a game from 7pm to 7pm with a group on Rainbow Six. They went out of their way to talk to me which was nice. Ask me questions about the UK etc, and how I was coping as it got later and later.

It's the 13 yr old americans that ruin Xbox live though, with their high pitched sqeeking irratating voices.

I've got a weel good story about some American on Splinter Cell. Me and my partner pretended we were Japanese for like an hour, and he believed us and asked us questions and what words meant and stuff. I'll make a topic on it sometime.

Been playing burnout3 online for a while now and met some cool people to add to my friends list and no complaints, but last night, an American joined my game on the UK server which wouldn't have been a problem, but he was a cock. Singing the whole way through. Nattering about god knows what the whole time. I was trying to talk to road rage teammates, but couldn't communicate tactics properly because you couldnt hear above the din he was making. Every time you said anything like "I'm 5 seconds behind person X", he chipped in with a "that's because you suck ass" - which was odd, because he was right at the back behind everyone constantly. Whenever he crashed, instead of a "nooooo", there was a tirade of incredibly loud swearing and blame-placing. I told him to stfu, but he paid no attention. I got bored and left.
I'm going to join some random US server games for some research.

The online American community is disgusting. Full stop.

Last night I was listening to some cretin explaining how George Bush was indeed an excellent "dude" for leading the worlds best "Islamic scum killing machine" in history (he meant the army).

He and the others then presumably carried on talking about the justifications for killing women and children (they'll just grow up to be terrorists, ennit?) long after I disconnected and tried to lose the bitter taste in my mind playing Disgaea.

They give the country as a whole such a bad, bloody name.

Wish people from here still played Ghost Recon...

Apparently, I sound like the NPCs from Fable

(which I think is great )

Generally though, while many American players seem to be know-it-all-n00bs, they're no more worse than Europeans with attitude who think they have something to prove, etc... And in fact, while I've even bitched to some players on Live for mouthing off, some of 'em ain't half good at some of them games.

It's just the kids you have to kick like, everyone else is all right. Oh, with one exception -- the Japanese cheat like mother ****ers everytime I've played some, both in Moto GP and Line of Contact. At least you can lay down some rules for everyone else, the Japs just don't seem to give a ****.

It seems that almost everyone who's American and plays online MMORG's are in the Armed forces. ...hmm.

                          hahaha, that's great.

In my experience the yanks can be reaaaal annoying.
"That's so gay!!!"....okay....A lot of them seem like they have something to prove. "I'm so great! You suck...and are gay and so forth! *snigger*," In one of my first live experiences I had a guy going crazy about President Bush. I had a big argument with him about how stupid he was being. Not because he supported Bush, but because of the terribly ill informed **** he was spewing over his headset.

What really pisses me off is antisocial playing. Generally hindering another player for no reall productive reason, like oooh, slamming on the brakes on a straight during drafting >.< NOT cool! I've had a few people from here doing it ;/

Also, I can't stand the awful nerds. They really are hideously off putting. All the snorting and mumbling!!! They'll usually only form coherent sentences when they want a level change, and even then it's gonna be real obnoxious.

Not experienced any of that from any players myself. I've not picked up a headset yet (on trial code), but of the games I've played all the banter has been great.

Most Americans have been fine when I've played them but, every so often, you meet a real prick

I was playing Burnout 3 earlier against some Americans - varying abilities at the game but we were all roughly as good as each other. So we had a few games which were really good fun. Whenever I won, two of them would congratulate me. If I got a Takedown on them, they would jokinlgly call me a bastard or whatever. I knew there was nothing malicious in it so I just laughed. But there was one immature little **** who sounded like he was about 10, who was being REALLY abusive to me! I got a Takedown on him on the last corner of a Road Rage race and his team lost...a few people laughed. His response: "**** you LR Lench! Rot in hell you ****ing dick!" and then he booted me ft: Ok firstly he couldn't even READ my name and, secondly, my stats didn't update because of this loser...my team won a race, I was playing against higher ranked people and I got three Takedowns! I should have have been given at LEAST 8000 points

But for every tosser like this, there's maybe 100 Americans who are great to play against...I prefer playing against Americans most of the time, especially with Burnout (it hasn't really taken off well online over here, IMO)
