I've cancelled my EQ2 subscription as well, it just didn't click with me and I hated the art style. The character models are ugly imo.

Having said that I'm quitting FFXI as well, my static left for WoW and I think I'll follow them, I like the idea that WoW isn't as time intensive as other MMORPGs. I've spent far too much time playing FFXI the last 6-7 months.

EQ2 is vastly different game to what I played in the UK beta. A couple of us (sick of WoW) are planning on rolling chars on the PvP server when it goes live on 21st Feb. Just tinking about with classes for now, seeing which we like.

No game slagging akin to the above please (I could bore you all day with the failings of FFXI and WoW), this is a recruitment/interest post.

PM me if you are indeed interested

out of curosity whats so gooda bout FFIX?

I've played most of the MMO out and by far I thought FFIX was the worse, when it first came out in the UK with the 2 expansions I rushed to get it, isntall and play for about 3 weeks and that was a struggle.. I found it too much of a grind, run from a to z too much and die alot..maybe it was me but did not enjoy it as half as most peopel i hear saying they love it.
Tis a shame as alot people do love it and I wish i could join in.

Can u point out its great points?

Maybe I give it a try on the 360, wouldent mind having a MMO on my 360 ten Id never have to sit on my pc for games again.
        hehe
Everything I need on one machine.

Scanned thru that seems more of what people are up to and meeting rather than whats good about it.. some say a WOW beater... I play WOW atm and love it.

I'd probably be interested in joining EQ2's pvp server - I just hope they allow a character transfer which won't cost me $50 (my character currently on Mistmoore has all sorts of preorder and collector edition bonus items and ****)

I hope not. One of the best things about the new RP-PvP servers launching in wow last year was that everyone was on equal footing for the introduction of a new ruleset. As PvP is entirely new (duels notwithstanding), we'll not know how things shame up.

That said, you'll have more veteran rewards than you can shake a big stick at.

Well, preorder/collector edition items can only be claimed the once per account. What happened with this game as new regional specific servers opened up, SOE allowed free character transfers, I would imagine there would be alot of existing players who would want to transfer to these new servers.

What happened with WOW, if I remember was that there were PVP/RP servers active from launch, so people having to lose out on a character with 60 levels wasn't going to be an issue.

Well, as I say, I sincerely hope not. Fresh servers encourage new people to turn up, as it's a level playing field (knowlegde of the game differing somewhat, obviously).

                    Anyway, interest noted

                      1 question.

Is the merchant selling system still the same? i.e having to be online and in your room to sell things?

Have no idea. I played a week of beta and a few days of the current version. Also, just been playing the test centre version of the next publish - the noob island has been completely redone, and instead of progressing at level 10 and 20, you just roll the end class. I guess people were bored of grinding the same old quests to 20 to try each class.

That said, it's blatantly a different game, noticable even at the early stages. I was reading some crafter guide earlier and he said he would put some components up for sale before logging off (oil?), so I assume you can sell to players whilst offline.
