Ouch. Forgot how headache-inducing an overloaded Q3A DM server could be.

The Punkbuster hasn't been updated on the other one, it seems. Which would explain why there's just a couple of bots playing on it.

Oh, and I didn't actually recognise any names on the scoreboard at all - did this actually happen, or was it just full of random members of the public (and boy, was it full)?

Frankly, what the others said was a piece of piss. Go to id software's website, download the 1.32 point release from the front page, run the install.

Go into the baseq3 directory (where the .pak files are) and copy the big .pak in the CD's equivalent directory.

(if you're running XP service pack 2) Mark the main Q3 exe as allowed to access the internet in the firewall settings

Start Q3, enter your CD code, do all your config, then go to the multiplayer option.

How long does it usually take PunkBuster to update - I'm on a 2meg line and it seemed to be doing nothing except kicking me while PunkBuster updated.

Also no one was in 27960 and everyone in 27961 were people I didn't recognise from the forum - where is everyone?

That was a lot more fun. Even if poor hohum had a Bot on his side that was just awful. Ran right past me without even noticing, went over and picked up the railgun, and at that point I shot the poor thing...

Hehe... yeah :/ Well unfortunately my ping was well and truly borked tonight, seems to be something isp-related so nothing i could do. Still, was fun, and I didn't do too bad considering
