the scoring system is something like
the number of secondary shots that hit
then the last shot from normal blows it up and thats the multiplier

example you hit an object with 15 secondary shots
one shot with normal shot

16X bonus

i might be wrong but i think thats how it goes....

Think I've got the scoring sussed out now, but I keep losing lifes due to greed/stupidity.

Was this NTSC exclusive? The MAME Action Replay Page does this very thing, but with videos (INP files using the playback option in MAME).
