Ive signed up to that. Seem to be the only one though!

Played this guy who was number 1 on the rankings at the time last night. He used Arsenal, in 5 minute matches. 80% of his goals are pretty much all the same - Hleb/Bergkamp/Henry gets clear down the centre/out wide, and he absolutely always manages to find a perfect pass to the supporting striker, which eliminates the keeper for an easy tap in.

Gave him a fair number of games, and lost a couple by 3 goal scorelines. Basically, every chance he made went in, whereas my players were missing half their chances. The nature in which he scores his goals though makes it hard for any player to miss, and i swear he must be using the manual pass function or something, cos every ball played across the box is inch perfect. Eventually i shimmied my tactics round enough and we had some damn close games, a few of which ended in score draws, and he beat me a couple of times with the last kick of the game. I got a couple of wins as well though, and ripped a fair few points off him in the process. Didnt like playing 5 minute matches though - over too quickly.

Not taking anything away from your opponent mate, but that's why he's got a lot of wins. 5 minute wuss if you ask me. Honestly, I'm sure given a 15-minute game, you would've sussed out his one mode of attack earlier and he would've struggled.

Manual Pass is very useful once you've got the hang of it. I must start using that one myself since the regular pass can be a bit inaccurate. I've also discovered using the fast, low cross from inside of the opponents half better than using the through-ball, since when it works, the opponents defence is cut to pieces mainly because there is a swerve to the ball, which slows up just enough for the striker to get hold of and do something with.

Played some random over the weekend, done him twice with the ball; the first time he ran his keeper out, so it was a case of taking it round him and sticking the ball away in an empty net' and the other was a square ball back across goal for a tap-in.

I reckon he must have been doing that triple tap thing as well actually - time and again Henry would latch on to a curved through ball for a frustatingly easy finish. Will have to try that one myself!

To be honest, i clocked his tactics fairly quickly, but doing something about it was another thing. My defenders kept getting knocked off the ball and left in no mans land. Eventually i pulled them back and changed some of their settings, which seemed to work. Guess if they had been longer matches though, then yeah, i woudl have figured him sooner.

Still, good games, and its always good to come across different techniques.

Yeah, the triple-tap is deadly - especially when you've got a quick striker to aim towards as well.

Did you adjust your individual settings to combat the problem or play a straight line-defence?

I went with a straight line defence (something i noticed he had employed as well) and set a man marker on Hleb. I also removed the forward attack arrows from my full backs, and actually out them the other way. Made the tackling more agressive as well!

After i'd done that and found the right combo, he rarely scored more than one against me.

That's how I set mine normally! High Defence for the back-four and the midfielders as well.

Bleeders 0 - 2 Marmite

Really close game. First half was a complete battle. Second half saw more chances created, and it was the Lyon strikers that eventually won through.
