What does the lock symbol actually mean on the friends list?

I've added and locked everyone from here, I'd suggest everyone locks each other.

Locking means you're more likely to find each other online and means you can't delete them from your friends list by accident.

I really enjoyed the 3p Wario Stadium, I think that's the best race I've had so far.
The guys from Gaming Age Forums, they've a huge thing going over there. Some decent players there.
