Mario Kart DS - 2 dongle or not 2 dongle :s

Oi oi!!

I was just wondering what the score was with Mario Kart DS and getting to play online without a wireless router.

Can an ordinary PC dongle be used to connect to the internet via your PC or do I need to get an official Nintendo WiFi connector??

These things were supposed to be out on Friday with MKDS but no bastard has them. Looks like the GameCube broardband adapter situation all over again!!
