I'm on my second run through of LSW:TCS after my PS2 game wouldn't let me get past 99.9% and I forgot how much of a chore going back for all the minikits was.

Yeah, I've made that same mistake. After enjoying the relatively easy-breezy Lego Indy, I picked up LSW2 on a whim ... and it looks like I'll need to replay certain levels over and over in a stud-collecting grind-a-thon.

For the star wars games make sure you buy the stud multipliers asap, makes collecting the studs much easier

That goes for any Lego game. Basically, buy all the extras in this order:

X2
X4
X6
X8
X10
Minikit Collector
Power Brick Collector

Usually the hardest one to get is the X2 and X$ as you need a million studs. However once you get these two, you can stack them and the rest will fall very quickly.

By the time you have all the multipliers, you'll be on Free Play and it's worth getting the minikit and power brick collectors.

Sometimes I buy the stud magnet early just to make things easier.

I got spoilt by Lego Indy, which had cheat codes allowing you to get the x2-x10 multipliers from the off. This "buying things" business is for the birds.

You don't need the cheats though. If you do things in the order I said, you can beat the game and get everything without having to do any extra work than a cheating scummo .

Yeah, but you still have to play levels over and over to get enough for the first couple of multipliers. I've been through the entire game and don't have enough for the x2 yet. YAWN.

Really? I'm sure I usually get the first million for the X2 by the third group of story chapters and I usually have enough for the X4 just as I start the Free Play missions.

I never have to farm for studs if I stick to my system. You have to be strict though - no buying extra characters or hints until you have all the multipliers.

Has to be said that I loved Lego Star Wars - but the grinding was murder - however that could be said about most of my games at the moment.
