When you are a spy how'd you do anything offensive? People keep killing me when I'm merc (neck snaps, thrown out of windows etc), and yet I never get the option! I realised yesterday that you can knock people out by jumping on them (sorry Blair ), but that doesn't help much.

I also really suck at being a merc. I played a game on a public server and had to sit out half the map because I ran out of lives

Stealth is the spy`s weapon. As you know, the idea is to retrieve the files without being seen and killed. I don`t kill mercs very often because if you come up against a decent player you`ll be toast. If you feel the need to dish out death to mercs, get some smoke down or use a flash nade and then go for the kill, it is a risky business though.

As for being a merc, your FoV is smaller as the game is in the 1st person, so you have to be more aware of the spy detection sensor as there will be people that want to snap your neck like a twig. My advice would be to keep moving, if the echos get very fast and an attack is iminent, click the left stick and perform your melee move to knock them out, then either pick them up and kill them with "A" or shoot them to death. The melee move is very handy if you feel a spy is close.

Also, if the echos are very fast and you are stood near a balcony do not approach beacuse a spy is waiting, float a drone over there instead and blow em up.

Aye, only go after a merc if you're absolutely SURE of victory. For example, if you see a Merc not moving and a drone hovvering about somewhere, then there's a good chance he's the one controlling the drone and therefore completely defenseless. That is one of the few golden opportunities you'll get to kill a merc.

It's much better to concentrate running distraction and getting the job done. Killing off lights is a very important job. AND BE QUICK TOO. This sneaking around business gets you killed.

This is by far the most fun i've had online bar Halo 2,

The game is balanced to perfection you can really wind up the Mercs with simultaneous hacking, and there's nothing more fun than chasing the spys with a wee drone up a vent.

My and Hank got a total shut out against a couple of pillocks, I even managed an Unheard on Double kill with a grenade shot across the map killing both one with a fully downloaded file in hand!

If Im honest i have no preference the Spy is great fun to play with as is Merc, But like anygame its who you play with, you need to have a good banter going on with a wee bit of Spy tea bagging ;P

Dont like playing with silent people seems hollow when there's no chat going down

Yer it's the best live game for a long time - As Gerry says the comms are absolutely essential - I also like the sniper aspect of the rifle when zoomed - Very satisfying when you hear "headshot" from the announcer.

I was going to mention the balance - As we've been playing in a group you can definately pick up on how everybody is improving their game - picking their spots, hiding cleverly.

I still haven't pulled a merc out a window or off a ledge yet - I hung about a window on Boss House waiting for Hank or Gerry for ages last night whislt Nembot was hacking at the other end of the house

I managed to drag nembot over the balcony the other night with a satisfying thud, It were funny watching you pull out a drone to get me and I hop over the banister and twig yer neck "He's got meh at red" Crack!!!
