Forza 2 Endurance Race Meet-up

Absolutely superb racing tonight Force. That race around Sebring, and especially around Road America, were brilliant racing.

So many times we almost touched, but just just kept on side-by-side.

Can you tell I like this game just a little.

Noticed you guys were playing this last night.

Anyway, I'm afraid I have to start work at 21:30 on Thursday, so I'm out of this week's endurance race.

Although I guess I could at least start the race and do a few laps before ducking out.

What about if we moved it to 8:00 sharp then? Its a short lap, so the race will only be just over half an hour. Would that give you enough time to do the race?

Plus, would everyone else be ok with 8:00 instead?

yeah, we had some really amazing races yesterday !! it's always so close ! The replay of RoadAmerica is even stunning to watch again, that was an amazing race.

tomorrow 08pm is fine with me. So Kubrick, try get Clyde away from watching gay porn on Thursday evenings so he will join as well tomorrow !
I hope more will join tomorrow in this endurance (Burntoutbanger, MarioMark, Lurch, charlesr etc !)

ps. it's no prob for me to keep this going and keep note of the scores for the next few races till you're back.

yesterday we had one the closest finishes ever I think....
Senna finished less then one 10th of a sec behind me !! The 1st half of the race I had Kubrick on my tail till he went wide on the 1st corner (I think ? ..) , after that I was cruising till I started making some stupid mistakes on the last 3 laps so Senna could catch up with me... nerve wrecking stuff !

afterwards we had some good races,

Lurch not sure what happend on the Nordschleife, I thought you were on the gras when I passed you and suddenly I saw you spin out, if it was my fault, then I apologise...
But I never felt any contact, but I had that on more races, there was some kind of lag in some of the races, when I was behind Senna I saw his car going all in a sudden all over the track and next second he was far ahead of me without any problems...
glad that doesn't happen to ofter with this game.

Senna will be moving to London next week, so he won't be able to join.
If you guys are still up for a weekly endurance race post it here please and I'll join for sure. I hope we can keep this going once a week, but if we don;t have enough people that want to race we can also wait with the endurance races till Senna is back online.

Maybe some have some friends which are not from the forum that want to race online , they are ofcourse more then welcome !

ps. if someone just feel like racing post it and we can get together for some more short races or a quick tournament, every car class is ok ofcourse !

Yep, that was an amazing race. 0.1 seconds at the end, just another few metres.....

I got frustrated stuck in third place after the first corner (I think Lurch and Kubrick tapped each other slightly and luckily I got past Lurch) and started to make some stupid mistakes. Kubrick was really harrassing Force at the front, and a couple of times I almost drove into the back of Kubrick at the end of the back straight.

Lost a couple of seconds to them, but then Kubrick went off at the first corner and I got through to second. Was then tough to reduce the gap because Force was by then four or five seconds in the lead. I managed to reduce it to three seconds after the pit stops, but then the gap just stayed the same or slightly more until the last few laps. I did three really good last laps, and Force made some small mistakes, so that going into the final corner I was almost touching the back of his car.

For thirty five minutes of racing to come down to 0.1 sec is staggering, but testimony to how there is nothing between the Force and I. More of the same please.

Yep, Im going to be offline from next tuesday for a couple of weeks until I get fully settled in down in London. If you guys can continue these races then great, if you could note down any results that would be great as well and ill update them when Im back.

Ok, Im down in London now, and by god is this place busy

Ive got BT delivering my router and modem next Thursday, so should be up and running perhaps that afternoon.

Anyway, I feel the time is right for changing the car type in these endurance races. Weve done them all, and as fantastic as they are, and as great handling as the R3 cars are, if we continued week after week then it could get monotonous. With the huge numbers of cars in this game, I think it would be criminal to stick to one type all the time.

I also get the impression that its just the same people playing these races week after week. Its always better (for me at least) when as many people are playing as possible.

Two things come to my mind:

1) Some people dont like the R3 cars
2) The time is not right for people

So, to address these points:

1) What do people think about changing the car to a specific type, and changing this every week: eg we all race F355s, and disable all adjustments to car setups. The car would change every week, making things more interesting.

2) Lets settle this once and for all: who wants, or would be interested in, taking part in these races, but cant because Thursday 8:00pm is not suitable? It would be really appreciated if you could say when the best time for you is instead.

As much as these races are amazing and great fun, I think the time is right for a slight change.

I'd love to join in on the fun but the time and day aint suitable for me. Im personally available any other day at the same time though.

Now the crazy (at work!) Christmas period is over i'll try and join in some of the races again. Any car/class/track is good for me and a little variety would be great. I can usually accomodate most evenings but its just the start time that is my issue (wife/kids etc!) so from my point of view if I can fit in with what everyone else wants thats great, if not then next time is fine!

How do people feel about a regular Sunday evening race? Say sometime between 7 and 9?

I was also thinking about an A class car this time. Ill try a few out tonight and find a fun car to drive. Any suggestions are welcome, and if anyone fancies a few races tonight send me an invite.
