Well thats the Sapphire Cup over. It only ran from the 23rd of October to today - i was under the impression that these Cup's were monthly competitions, so i am now unable to list my better times. Oh well.
Anyway, finished 1st in the UK on Long Pipe (44th overall, 18th non-snaking.) Well pleased with that and i've actually now got a time half a second faster.
Emerald Cup starts soon. Anyone going to be competing? Personally i am going to need loads of practice as the Emerald tracks are without doubt my weakest.

Dave - I've stopped playing. I really tried to get back into it again after a break, but alas it just ain't holding my interest any more. I have officially retired.
TS2Master - Post your times up. Always interested - just don't expect much competition as this thread seems to have died.
#EDIT - Just noticed you just posted your times.#

All the times on the leaderboard are non-snaking.
As for snaking - yes, it does make a major difference to times. You can go much quicker. Problem is (a) its rubbish and spoils the game and (b) you will knacker both your pads and your hands/wrists.
Snaking - You will need a car with good grip (heavy overall weight is also quite important.) Of the stock cars the Black Bull is the best for snaking. Set the acceleration/top speed ratio to maximum acceleration.
The snaking method is:
Obviously keep A pressed down for acceleration and then..
Left Analog + Left Shoulder
Right Analog + Right Shoulder
Left Analog + Left Shoulder
Right ... and so on and on and on ... You get the picture.
Don't start a new L or R movement until the previous one is completely finished. If you can get a good rhythm up (and not hit the walls) you will go ultra fast.

Supergoal quote:
Said it before but the snaking trick has blowen it out of the water for me RIP F Zero
You don't need to use it though. I certainly don't. I haven't even bothered learning how to do it. As long as you compare non-snaking times it's no problem....
