Outrun 2006 PS2/PSP - Offline?

SEGA support being nonexistent, can anyone here confirm whether know if this, too, has been unceremoniously and sans announcement been taken offline as well? I have not been able to connect and it appears the same applies to others.

Even when it came out I was never able to get a game on the PS2 version. I even tried whilst on the phone to my mate and even though we were both in the lobby, neither of us showed up for each other, so I don't think it's anything new that you can't get anything.

In any case SOL (Steve of SUMO for those unaware) has confirmed the PS2 and PSP versions are gone

Not likely to be the answer you want to hear, but it looks like the Demonware side of things has been discontinued.

Basically Demonware acted as the matchmaking - setting up everyones game, and without that - the online side of the game will no longer function.

Sadly not a lot we can do about this - especially now Demonware has been acquired by Activision.

So sorry, but it does look like online is down from here on out.

Sigh...I suppose at least the XBOX and PC versions are still there, but still....there was something beautiful about it on the PS2, and no more portable online loveliness on the PSP....

How wrong that the termination was so unceremonious and unannounced.
