I have the game all patched now but it seems EU servers wont be online untill about 3am tonight.

You sure? A mate on xfire seems to be playing it now - he definately has the client loaded up, but whether he's connected or not is another matter... Fairly sure he was playing earlier though.

I'll try again, when I tried to login it rejected my username/password, however the same login details gets me into the account website, so not sure whats going on.

Yup I got that code too, bit of a cheek really as the cape is one the 'bonuses' in the collectors edition of the game.
My collectors edition, complete with a 'prized' drinking cape in-game item arrived today the missus tells me....Installing after work ftw.

Is it true the box was hand crafted with metal pieces?

Done some looking around on the AoC forum and it seems only those with Early Access codes are able to get on at the moment, so any standard retail versions are going to have to wait for tomorrow.

Ah well gives me some time to think of a character name and choose what race and class to be.

Anyone know if this is going to be available for digital download? I doubt it as its supposed to be in the double digits of Gb's but thought i'd ask

I'm very very tempted to get this, especially if the ntsc lot jump in. Bit worried it will turn into yet another mmo with exactly the same design flaws ala WoW and LOTRs (the game is almost exactly the same whatever level you are, the numbers just get bigger, etc), however there are some neat ideas which interest me.

Don't think my current PC will cope so well (Athlon 3500+, 2gig ram, ati x800XT) though I am in the process of replacing the lot. Hmm...

Ian(not Ian) says...I reckon we're still a long way off from the every 10-level stats/weapons/armour boosts which most MMOs subscribe to. That said AoC at least offers a departure from the auto-attack and a so-called twitch approach to the battles, but imo, no more than DDO's excellent realtime combat.

Not long now. EU server 'Dagon' tomorrow if anyone fancies all the fun of Hyboria.

Really looking forward to this now, just had a few hours kip through the evening so I can manage to stay up and give it a short test run when the servers come online.

Looking like im leaning towards a Stygian Ranger.

Good choice Mikewl, Stygians are the real badasses of Hyboria, though they are more suited to the dark arts...It's what they do.
Dunno how Funcom see them as being ranger types or where they found any lore which suggest they were into physical ranged weapons. By Ymir's beard...What the hell.

If yer doing an stint overnight Mikewl, post an impression or two afore you fall asleep at yer keyboard. It'll give me some thing to latch onto tomorrow at work.
As you may have noticed I'm looking forward to this, but to be fair I reckon Conan should really be a solo affair along the lines of Oblivion. Nothing worse than getting into the Hyborian way of things to be faced with some 12yr old numpty who chops yer head off and calls you a fag, kinda kills the immersion imo.

Also...There are no Roleplaying servers for AoC, other than PvP servers, and even there the above will happen I venture.

Even though I lost patience to play MMORPG's, I always enjoyed the Conan comics, and I could consider this if the opinions are positive.

I was going to wait up and give it a go tonight but servers opening time has been delayed untill 6am, so its going to have to wait.

Ok lol, ended up staying up, servers came on about 4.30am.

Put about an hour into it so far, just made it to Tortage city, the game looks ace, graphically on medium settings im well impressed, performance is good, steady framerate.

Early impressions are good, the combat seems good, the music and voice acting are both to a high standard.

Will give some better impressions later, need sleep now.

I managed to get on the Dagon server, my characters name is Cobretti, went for the Ranger class.

Are you sure? The US got one...apparently it has proper PVP rules unlike the normal PVP server.

I should have the new PC ready by first week in june (waiting for the new Raptor harddrive!), not sure if I should wait until then or get started this weekend on lowest detail...hmmm

Ah yes Pete, the servers which are designated RP includes PvP, so it's RP-PvP.
There are no RP-PvE listed, simple PvE.
Thus if Funcom has they're way Roleplayers will also be PvP playing.
