Those of you (I'm jealous) who are playing. Does AoC include built-in voice-chat?
      I do hope so.
Seriously tempted to take the afternoon off work now....bah

            LOL

Nothing better than repeatedly exploiting players that are hopelessly **** Especially more than one at once.

I fully recommend NOT creating characters on Role-Playing realms, unless you like being snootily PM'd by some fat jobless arsehole about not communicating whilst keeping 'in-character'. Bollocks to that.

            ---

I'd start this game along with some of you but I'd take the piss and play 16hrs a day, and I'd rather save my energy for Warhammer

Played it for a day now and it stinks, it really is bad. "Combat" uses every sodding key, how they expect you to dodge, use specials and block like fighting game while try to attack and move(while icons are flashing all over the place) is ****ing crap it just ends up with you button mashing, £32 wasted on what feels like a crap elderscrolls with tagged on multiplayer, in fact i've seen zero multiplayer so far and nighttime mode is a bag of crap.

              Avoid.

Well I'm finally on after a mammoth patch session.
                Dagon - Darkjinxter
Though I expect the naming nazis to have a go soon.
Button mashing is minimal Tobal, smoke 'n' mirrors you'll find, just attack the weak point ftw

I havent read the instructions but im guessing the weak point is shown by the marks round the side of the mob your attacking?

Pretty decent game so far. im a level 8 barbarian called stave

Attack where the marks aren't as they show where a mob is defending, then just hit the buttons over and over till its dead.

Its no ffxi, but i'm gonna give this a chance till i can see the party system if it actually exists, also on Dagon as Askeladd.

I've not heard of any yet, but I hope some get made as the default UI is not the best.

                        Edit:

The video in that lvl 80 raid boss you posted seems like they are using a modified UI, so I guess there must be one.

                          LOVING IT!!!

First off performance wise, my iMac is running the game on medium settings with 2x AA and im getting around 25 FPS with the odd dip, thats on 1300 odd resolution. Needless to say im delighted with the results being a Mac owner and the game actually seems much better performance wise then LOTRO.

Gameplay wise im finding it soooo much more intresting then most MMO's, the thing at the beggining that i love is that you go right into fighting hard looking basts. Not like other MMO's where you start out getting slaughtered by Bunny Rabbits.

Personally im finding the melee combat and combo system pretty damn intresting and exciting to use, a good change from other MMO's. The only downside is that the controls can take some getting used too.

So far AoC gets a big from me.

Someone I was grouped with earlier recommended the mods here

After a couple of initial meh moments I'm loving this now.
I've never been one for power-levellig, I like to nose into every nook 'n' cranny, thus I'm only a level 14 Barbarian so far.
Graphically I'm running a 1900x1200 on high settings and it looks sweet as a nut. Right up there with Oblivion imo.
The character models are extremely high detail as is the starter area of Tortuga.

Voice-acting is spot on ( I actually listen to every word they say rather than skipping to the end) with dialog to suit, down to earth shall we say.

One NPC, a sergeant at arms, gives you a typical collect 5 gems from pirates quest. Difference is he wants them for

to give to the local whores, who are sweet on them, thus he gets special favours

                                Laugh I did.
