Anyway! Just had 2 tournaments with some NTSCers and boy did I whip their asses again! Finally a game I really feel I can excel at. It's brilliant. Every time doodle tried to overtake me in those races, I always had a missile saved after hunting for one madly throughout. And always fired it straight into it immediately. Must have been horrible feeling!

Great races though, really really loving this game.

Yeah thanks for the love Rossco! not my best night tonight I will have my revenge mwahh hah hah!

Noticed there's a trophy for completing a 12-round online tournament, will have to set that up next time.

You've only just noticed? It was all randoms the other night were doing. Bloody trophy whores. <_< Doubly irritating since everyone would instantly start dropping the moment they lost except me and whoever was hosting. I mean, racing's still fun - even if you're just practicing the tracks - but still...

Too many games to play again... I was wanting to get some more time in tonight but FFTA2 grabbed me first. Oh, well.

Is it for completing a tournament or winning a tournament? I don't get why they would drop out if the trophy is awarded just for completing one...

It's for completing one. I assumed only the host had set it up to get the trophy (since it doesn't matter how many players there are as long as you start and finish with at least two) and the others were just randoms joining a game for the sake of it who were dropping once they started losing and/or when they saw the tournament was twelve races long. I could well be wrong. I just went through four or five games in a row where it was a twelve race tournament that quickly ended up with just me and the host, so that was my best guess.

I got that the first time I went online without even realising. Joined a 12 race one and won every race against the host.

I was only planning to load the Wipeout soundtrack from CD on my PS3 last night when I got the urge to give it a quick go instead of going to bed and before I knew it I was racing online with some NTSCers ..... how addictive is this game ?!

it was great fun and yes Rossco kicked our asses, but Rossco, enjoy it while it last because next time you're going down boy !!



there is one thing I really miss while playing this online.... the trash talk during the races......
I have an USB headset (haven't figured out yet how to get it to work though) but it's so quiet during the races.
Seems that PS3 is still a long way from the online heaven that t he 360 brought us...
Atleast the racing is lag free which is a good thing !

Did I convince you to get it then!? I added you the other day anyway, got loads of people on this now so usually have a good few games with full lobbies.

Need to get a headset soon too, might just get bluetooth one to use for phone too.

Indeed, I think it was you Rossco who posted them screens of that snow level. I then realised what had I been doing with my life since Wipeout HD came out 'till I got it days later.

Also: How many of the games that you've played online with fellow NTSC-uk'ers use a headset? Or have the majority of the matches been silent?

All silent for me so far, I turned my headset on but no icon came up...not sure they are supported?

I'm so impressed with no lag and no drop outs so far (although it did crash when I was scrolling through lobbies).

Very impressive online performance, I agree. I saw a bit of lag here and there, and a couple of lockups in the lobby (lobbies), but other than that, beautiful stuff. May be lacking in features but it runs really well.

I would love a headset; I just can't really afford one right now. Random 14-year-old Americans screaming "fag" aside, I do miss the background chatter of any XBox Live match, even when I wasn't saying much myself. Sony really, really should have bundled a cheap one with the system as standard.

Yeah 100&#37; lag free so far online. Seen a few people with the headset icon there but goes away after a while when they realise no-one else is talking. Don't mind it so much since you really need to concentrate every split second but it would be good for a bit of trash talking!

Gonna go on now for an hour or so if anyone fancies joining me in 5-10 minutes?

I can give it a shot. Been driving up my pulse rate earning the odd gold on the earlier campaign boxes, so I could do with a break on something I know I can't win.
