Hey what if we arranged much smaller weekly/fortnightly tournaments? Then maybe the winners of each tournament can go head-to-head? Each one can be organised by a different member to spread the work out.

Can't wait for spectator modes, then things will really be special

I'm all for new tourney ideas. How would we have done that with the 40-odd players we had, though?

Well we could've had four tournaments going on concurrently with 16 players each. Maybe each could have its own thread to stop the confusion, although as the names in each tournament would be different, I guess they could all post on this thread anyway and whoever was in charge of each tournament could keep an eye on their own players' stats.

The only thing to take care of is to make sure the number of tournaments at the start was the right number to ensure a final final match between two people.

So suppose we had two little 8-player tournaments, the winner of each tournament would then fight to become the overall winner.

If we had three 8-player tournaments, then we'd have three winners and I'm not sure how we'd narrow that down to two for the final.

This way, each tournament is over sooner as there are less tiers to go through before reaching the finals.

I like the idea of smaller tourneys to play through faster, problem is the only way you'll get a straightforward final is with 4, 8 player tourneys or 8, 8 player tourneys

Maybe you could do it over a month. Each week there are several smaller tourneys, the winner of which goes on a table and gets a point. At the end of the month the two highest players match for the final. If there's no distinct finalists there could be a small playoff.

That said, considering the two tournaments have been going since Sunday progress has been pretty good
