I would quite like to see if I can play my NTSC 360 copy with the PAL version without having to cough up for the DLC. That and I love the game to bits, so would always welcome a challenge when I'm on

I think you can, a patch was released some time ago to allow matches between all three game regions. DLC is limited to unlimited characters and extra colors: unlimited charas are not used in ranked play, can be turned off from match play and I've had a couple of matches against people with extra colors.
I can't be sure on unlimiteds because I bought that DLC :P

If anyone's up for a match just let me know, my lovely LE copy arrived in the post yesterday. Out of interest what are the extras the European version gets over the U.S & Japanese versions of the game.
