Wipeout HD Competition

Dug out Wipeout 64 last night and man is it hard! Blocky graphics hurt my eyes and brain after quite a short time but still brilliant fun. I can't handle cockpit view but the outer ship view is much nicer than in modern games fortunately. Love the choice of weapons and their feel, and the fact each ship has a unique one meaning you don't just pick the ship with the best stats.

Using my old save file and already had all golds on weapons, only 1 bronze on the races (rest silver/gold) and same with time trial. Only had 2 medals on "Super Combo" mode so have got a few more now but am stuck on the second to last challenge on my least favourite track. I think we should do some Super Combo type challenges next time for the HD challenge, I know we were trying to avoid races with the comp but something like "kill x and come 1st in the race", "fastest lap time and 1st place in a race" or "fastest lap time and kill x" might be good? The last I guess is what detonator is for...

I think its time to reignite the WipeoutHD Championship.

I think we should have qualifying (what we have now) and continue to post times but have a race at the end where the points exist.

The races in WipEout are my least favourite part. They're rubbish, unless weapons are off.

Thats because the weapons are pretty crap on HD. If it included the 64 weapon pack then it'd be better.

Don't think I'd be up for races personally. No-one would be available at the same time to play anyway.

I'm up for more time trials maybe but I would have to ask someone else to take the lead this time as in all honesty, I really can't be bothered!

I got 23 on my first go, which I expect to better a fair bit. I've only got the last set of races on the WipEout HD career to get gold medals in before I complete that though, so I'ma be working on both for now!
