What happens when you reach LVL.75? Can you stop playing the game?

That's the only thing I can see stopping me anytime not soon.

I'm so totally addicted to FFXI that I've stopped going to the gym, cooking, meeting friends, showering, shaving, cleaning up, washing up, sleeping, wanking... Anything that takes up time. I don't do anything but work and play this anymore!! Even when I'm at work I'm constantly reading up and memorizing synthesis and a profit gains.

The only time I take a break is to go to the toilet, make a spliff or to rip open a random can of tinned food and eat it cold!! (Seriously!!) I'm pulling dirty cutlery out of the festering water in the sink that's been there for 8 days now . LOL! I think it's worth paying my Auntie Grace ?10 to come down and sort it once a week.

I was at my mates house for 2 hrs this weekend and acted like a c**t coz I was anxiously desperate to get back and LVL-UP. Now that's bad.

2-4 hrs sleep a night too - sometimes none.

It's gotten to the point where I'm going dizzy and whiteying from as little as one drag on a joint, and that isn't like me at all. I hit the Chillum on saturday and had to lie down on the sofa for 5mins, I then pushed myself to play through the dizzyness/colour-blindedness that wouldn't go away.

The items we're after drop from 3 different mobs up in Pso'Xja

Snow / Forst Lizards - Carmine Chip
Treasure Chest Mimics - Cyan Chip
Diremites / Diremate Assaulters - Gray Chip

Only thing soloable to me I think are the diremites in the tower south of the Xarcabard path in the glacier. On the other hand treasure chests also drop the keys for the chest to get the map so could be worthwhile, I know I fancy the map. The next question will be if we can beat the BC without a stunner (have to save WSes for stun I think), as far as I know there's nothing to stop the mob other than killing it

As for an Assault Jerkin I think that would do the trick, I have 2 STR+3 rings that Mob sent me as he quit I could use as well. If I could get myself some good attack food maybe that would be enough. Only other thing would be to go after the Joyeuse for the fight as that may well help. The skill up would be good as well, staffs at 185 and Greatsword 100...

I have my key for Rubbish day so we could go farm up yours and we're good to go. As for other stuff up for all that lark, let me know.

      This is more the ticket!

Well most have taken 1-2 years to reach 75 in a single job, there?s plenty to do at end game it just a huge time sink and is often unfair and has fierce competition, the 2 main things are

High level dungeons against hard unsleepable, linkable mobs, it?s almost impossible to survive without dying.

High Level notorious monsters, either from lottery pop or Triggered to get drops.

I haven't stopped playing yet, and I don?t think I can until SE next mmorpg, even with all the crap that?s currently going on in normal servers, I?ve just spent to much time in levelling my character up to delete it in second ><.

indeed the time we spend getting our first job to 75 is emmence! Tsing ill be running skillups in boyahad tree for levels 190+ for parts of this week ... woer level skillups are best gotten from coffer hunts!

New contender for Razz's crown? I think it was Razz who said this game cost him his job... anyway I think we've all experienced this to some degree... I remember a particularly smelly sunday in the maze of shakrami when I was overjoyed to find the treasure I'd been hunting for all afternoon, as it meant I could finally take a shower.

I am enjoying the game as much as ever to be honest - even if some of the changes are not for the best. At this stage I am just not letting the economy effect my enjoyment - if there are things just so crazily priced (be it equipment or food) then I will just find an alternative or do without. By doing a mix of exping, missions, quest, skill ups, camping NM's and bcnm's I feel everything is fresh and fun.

I am also about half way through the Sleepga 2 quest (have done Rubbish Day) and it would be cool if we could reach the finale and do that together.

Killing Ose - skill ups, both sound great. Let me know when we go!

Darwock my friend. I feel your comments are particulaly negative. If you really just want to leave the game then feel free not to read any more. You are a changed Hume since your Japan trip last year. Before you went we were working together to get through G3 after months of fun and adventure. Since getting back you have barely been on for anything other than the ZM stuff.

All you need to do is something like the bcnm20 run to get 1.5M in the bank then you will be sorted for all the consumables etc you need in the coming months etc. Once this is sorted then a mix of things like i'm doing - solo, with the LS and random parties should be enough to rekindle the flame and keep the Gil steadily flowing? There are plenty of ways to amuse yourself for a few hours while doing something productive as I mentioned in a PM last week. Go camp a NM with your NPC. You can get NPC Exp, drops worth decent Gil and maybe even a 4M+ Gil NM item, all while chatting to your friends. Once you get back into things i'm sure you will be back to the old Darwock we all love. One more thing, why not do a little research before hand on things. This may make certain things a lot less head doing, while opening up new opportunities that you would never know about. I mean, in RL you always do research / get opinions about things - so why not in game.

hmmm, hopefully that came across how I wanted it to. Basically - can we please have the old Darwock back (or maybe even the drunk one...!). There is still so much to do that the current negative points don't effect. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

I think maybe the old me is part of the problem!

My attitude to the reading up on things aspect has never changed, and we've finally come to a point where if you don't, you hit a brick wall. (as opposed to just looking foolish like I traditionally do!)

I still can't get myself into that way of thinking. Perfect example today, I've discovered more than I wanted to know about how I can obtain Sleepga II... you'd think that'd make me chuffed since I've been desperate for this scroll for ages, but instead I just got disappointed as another quest has turned from a mystery, into a task that needs to be completed. This is another attitude I hold that is seemingly incompatible with the game (especially when most of the players refer to quests by the rewards rather than the given titles)

I don't intend to quit but I'm sort of paralysed at the moment anyway by a number of things, some of which affect all of us (like the economy)

I certainly don't want to quit until I've seen more of what's there to be seen, I haven't totally lost the spark!

Join in on the sleepga2 quest, being we have 3 people in the Ls progressing along the quest tree (sleepga2 quest is branched from completed multiple quests from 2 NPC's), ending in a tough NM fight.

                        thats them

                        spoilers..

Taru trading Cards -> Rubish Burning
Getting a Crystal ball -> Hairpin

After them 4 are completed its NM fight. Still time to catchup, as theonly time consuming on is Taru Cards.

Well asuming I get time here's my plan tonight:

Complete Blue Ribon Blues quest or at least get it to the point where I can fight an NM
Get my Pso'Xja key up in Pso'Xja
Get a grey chip from Diremites up in Pso'Xja
                            Get Teleport-Vahzl scroll
                            NPC to 38

Not convinced I'll get it all done but to get the chip and a key would be enough I reckon.

I think i'll do much the same, I already gotten and thrown away 2 of the chips i got very quickly from the uncapped area, so i'll NPC in the area outside it, where Nue Spawns in an atempted to get his Fang for the Brown Belt quest.

After last night's successful ZM6 battle, I'd like to get a group for ZM8 going at somepoint this week (too many exp groups are starting to want to head to sky, and obviously I can't join them yet so they relieve themselves of my service)

Any evening this week is good for me if there's enough interest shown
