So you can transfer beta character, etc, on pc then just play on 360?

Will i just need to use the POL install cd, or install ffxi too, considering all i want is to get registered?

I assume you would need to use the codes from the 360 game, as they are linked to your ContentID.

I mean, I can load up my 360 character on the PC fine, and it even detects I have the ToAU dispite me not having it on the PC (because I have the relevent key for the 360) when I installed my brothers copy.

I assume you just install using your PC POL disc, then transfer character, using your 360 keys.

Question - does maintenance mean an automatic server reset? I had tonight marked down to camp a NM with a 24hr pop window, am I now totally f&^ked?

And now I can't find the first person again either . Maybe I'm missing something. Coming from WoW, I'm used to nice helpful markers showing me where to go.

Also, I created a black mage, but I don't seem to have any spells. Is that right? I've not really managed to kill anything yet because I'm just punching them (and missing, mostly).
I'm a complete noob too and also a black mage. I've done a hat quest and one for some other guy who wanted two drops. You should start off with Stone spell in your inventory which you use on yourself to have selectable in battle. The other spells I think we have to buy or earn later.

When you leave a gate to go battling, make sure you look for a guy who has W.W. after his name and get him to cast Signet on you so you get crystal drops and points for later. That's about all I know right now

EDIT: Actually, can someone help me out with where to buy spells that I can use? I'm stuck with stone at the moment and the only spell shop I can find in Windhurst has spells for Lv.20+

Most of the low level spells drop off beastmen, failing that try the auction house.

For low level spells there is a low level vendor in every city. Windurst is in Port on those boat things and you can see on the map. Bastok is in Bastok markets near the port zone by the house used in the cold light of day quest. Sandy is in Port as well and is down the little off shoot tot he right after exiting the mog house.

So Optical Hat run on Saturday at 12:00 (noon), who's coming?

Last night I saw the following say they could make it

                  Tobal (until 17:00)
                  Wedgemoon (until 17:00)
                  Meric (Hat needed)
                  Tsingtao (Hat needed)
                  Apathye + 2 75s (Hat needed)

Others I'd expect we can convince to come would
                  Theanu (cos he's ace)
                  Darwock (See above)
                  Saerik (Hat needed)
                  Moot (Hat needed)
                  Rarehero (Hat needed)
                  Mosley (Hat needed)

So far there I count 7 hats, and I'm sure I'll have missed someone I always do. Given 7 hats and expecting to fight for 30 mins per hat and a cool down of 15 mins I reckon we'll be fighting for around 5 or so hours. May have to be the first run of 2!

One other question do you think we should buy a spare cluster in case we have a loss? Everyone from the LS chips in and its used if there is a defeat and is kind of an insurance for us all. If we have 0 losses we then sell it again?

I can come along sure, but I may have stapled a large sign on my forehead saying something about carbuncle mitts

Also have to say I'm a little hesitant to fork over my hard earned for insurance cos I have no interest in getting an optical hat whatsoever, does this only apply to people who are after the drop?

Super_Hss there is a problem with the uk registration, I had this happen yesterday too.

Unfortunately its just a matter of waiting for it to be fixed.

I got to test the 360 version out by using my pc account, got to say it has been improved over the beta, the graphics look sharper and the ugly unfiltered textures in the distance don't seem so noticeable.

However my biggest issue is with screen space, the chat box is too padded out from the edge of the screen.

One other thing is the sound seems to lag sometimes, when bringing up menus and stuff.

Im sure if 360 version is all you're familiar with most these issues wouldn't be noticeable, its just having the pc version to compare it to, kind of shows it up.

I presumed Tsing was only referring to people after the drop.

Oh, other news is I got my PS2 expansion in the post this morning, so VG+ weren't that slow (when you take into account the other hassles I had). I've picked up enough to realise I'm not going to be able to access the new areas for a while though.

Curious about all this staging area business that keeps getting mentioned, I hope this is something that can be done solo since it seems I've missed the boat.

To be honest we are far from finished with staging points, no one has them all yet and even if they do its of no use until enough of us have them to actually do the Assault missions, so my guess is we will be making the trek out to them plenty more times, but its not going to be so bad as more of us get used to the new zones.
