Final Fantasy XI Then...

Well last night was very sh!tty, think the frustration of S-E's maintenance ambush caused me to develop some kind of mania, so I was running about trying to kill myself as much as possible. I managed it four times and nearly lost level 65. I died trying to find out if Boroka was around, so no idea on that one.

I found the Mahisha, in fact I was the only person in the aqueducts zone all night so all the NMs would have been ripe for the picking... unfortunately I wasn't able to drum up any LS support so my 2 solo attempts at Mahisha ended very abruptly when he resisted my enfeebles.

The list of wants for that zone is getting large, there's more than we could do in a single visit. Saerik wants thief subligar, both Vanicent & Tsingtao want something from the Tres Duendes (so two trips at least), I believe Grimm needs to kill the minotaur? I also picked up another quest last night requesting me to go 'deep into the aqueducts' so presumably that means down in the library area behind the locked door.

Tsing you fancy taking a look tonight? I'm gonna need some support to get any interest from the LS.

We need to finish the last 2 Ks30's after fourth successful run ended in casualties with no chance for a raise, for which I now have to get normal exp(1.8k buffer) for after we complete the last two. Sadly the drops from the 4 runs stank, but at least Rare got his rare/ex katana. 2 more runs to get something decent.

Just wondering - have any of you guys started the ToAU stuff (missions etc) yet or are you waiting until you finish CoP and Zilart?

Something else I've been wondering too, has the chocobo breeding stuff been added to the game with the expansion or is it coming in an update? I know chocobo racing was meant for an update, not seen anyone talk about it in the usual places however.

the missions are all cutscenes so far, nothing involving fights unless you count assault which i reckon will eventually have something to do with getting further missions.

I think I will be on tonight D, if people are up for an aquaducts visit I'm game. Equally I need some gil and to level so I'm open to suggestions. For Tres Duendes I think we'd need a party + some as its not simple. I've doen the quest you're on as well D so feel free to ask if you like.

Got to laugh after Bayan popping on and informing us he killed Boroka the previous night.. we're all debating whether or not he will be up for claim and it turns out someone from the LS has already done it!

Rare, I've got to question why you say it's not worth your while killing him until you have more cash... I mean if he were to drop the kote you would profit as much as everybody else. Obviously I'm pushing for it cos I'm after one of the rare/ex drops anyway, but I don't really see the logic. Killing him not only potentially makes cash but also keeps control over the spawn times.

No further aqueduct action last night, instead I set about unlocking samurai so I can get rid of those quest items, and I also unlocked ranger to keep my job list nice and symmetrical.

Kote droprate is poor but is what I really want from him (my O.Kote are nice for end game where damage is better than anything but the Evasion-5 on them is really felt in level 40, 50 and 60 cap events).

However, if I want the kote I need to buy them if they drop but I can't afford that yet (I'm hovering around the 1.4m mark) so that means if they drop they will get sold. Add in the fact that the other drops are far more common, we would likely end up getting the other stuff people need long before Kote and it will probably become increasingly difficult to get people to attend.

EDIT - I think what I'm trying to say is I'm not in it to profit (monetarily anyway, well not directly ), like you I'm after a piece of equipment. Unfortunately whilst your piece has those lovely Rare/EX tags on them making the issue moot, I am not so lucky.

Well I honestly wouldn't give a monkeys about passing on the kote, it's all karma at the end of the day and maybe one day I'd get some help ^^

But either way, when you do buy them they don't have to be bought from us, and even if sold a share of the profits would bring you a lot closer.

I feel a bit like the people's front of judea.. what we need now is immediate discussion (while Bayan kills him yet again!) lol

Anyway, are we going into Phomiuna tonight? The only reason I never helped you out on Tuesday was KSNM had already been arranged. Nothing stopping me heading there later if enough people are willing.

That would be awesome if we could, only thing I have committed to is warping Vanicent back from Yhoator some time after 9pm. Hopefully Saerik can also be tempted away from Aht Urgan with the prospect of getting some thief subligar.

lol, I've just been discussing this with Darwock, as I wouldn't mind getting a Chiroptera Dagger (ranged accuracy +12 , what Ranger wouldn't want that ) and he suggested a combined effort to get both.

So, becuase of that, I'm up for helping him first, then we'll go after the dagger.

The only problem here is that I'm in work until 2000, and then I'm on an 0800-1700 shift tomorrow, so I won't have much time tonight.

I'm free over the weekend (bar 24 on Sunday night), however, and I'm off from the 21st-28th May, so anytime then is fine with me.



Hmm, I just realsed that I'm going to need more storage space soon. I might have to try for mog safe enhancement #3 (I think, as it has 70 slots right now), and the next gobbiebag wouldn't be a bad idea either...

Considering the limited time we have with Van tonight (it will be gone 9pm by the time he has warped home, geared up as WAR and gotten out to Tavnazia plus the fact he has to be in work for 8am tommorrow) perhaps another day is best. I can't do anything tommorrow as I am likely out all day/evening but Saturday should be good.

Of course, we could always do mashisa tonight and go back another time for Tres Duendes.

Yeah no worries Van I'll still be there for the duendes even if I get Mahisha killed before then, there's a fair list of wants so it makes sense to get through them as soon as possible. I know from experience that you can run out of time real quick in that place, so it's not wise to try and do too much at once.

P.S. I'm expected in a pub from 12:30pm (that being the afternoon) on Saturday so don't know if that could spiral out of control into a whole day session, but I hope not.

Also, you mentioned a quest in there too. Would that be the one that also required the Tavnazian Sheep Liver? If so I'm also up to that point.

I did make one journey around there but picked up aggro and had to Mijin Gakure.
