On the console versions (PS2 anyway) you go into the navigator on PlayOnline and select 'File Manager'. They are all listed there with thumbnails etc and can be emailed using your POL account.
Speaking of which I have all mine ready to upload to tal's webspace for safe keeping. In the meantime (while I have an NTL account) they can all be viewed in an open directory here by anyone who's interested.
Unfortunately due to the brightness settings I used on my PS2 the screenshots come out very dark and low contrast, so I always ran them through photoshop to brighten them up. All the named pics have had this done, the Dar04545.. ones are the raw captures. I can't sort them out now cos my PC is gone ; ;
My Japan pics from last year are there too, I know I said I'd get them ready for some of you and I never got round to it, so browse away if you want and use your imaginations - http://homepage.ntlworld.com/garek.laird/Japan/
If you are like Tsingtao, you can cut through the filler and go straight to http://homepage.ntlworld.com/garek.l.../Suzuka/Girls/
(what can I say, I really like Denso products)Last edited by Darwock; 10-08-2006, 08:35.

Private First Class!
And Golden Salvage completed without the use of any avatars.
In fact, Golden Salvage completed without the use of anything whatsoever.
Only had 4 of us for Assault (myself, Moot, Tal and Wedge) and we first went to Ilrusi Atoll to attempt to retrieve the golden figurehead. We buff up and get prepared for what we anticipated to be a series of difficult battles against multiple mimics. We are presented with a choice of routes, north or south and I make an informed decision (I didn?t flip a coin or anything) to go north. We exit the first tunnel into an impressive underground cavern and find a ship. We board and find our first target. Cursed Chest.
We approach with caution, weapons ready to be drawn should the chest come to life and attack, and prise open the lid.
You open the cursed chest and find?
A golden figurehead.
Echoes of laughter are drowned out only by a sense of underwhelming. After getting psyched up for many battles, our victory seemed cheapened but we activate the rune of release feeling that at least the job was done.
Eager for some actual action our next heading is the Mamool Ja Training Grounds for another attempt at Imperial Agent Rescue. I?m starting to really enjoy this one. Less dependent on luck that I first thought as we again cleared it after taking down 2 doors. The secret is killing the NIN type Mamool Ja as quickly as possible. These use Hand-to-hand so don?t have a weapon toss move which can destroy the door in one hit. Kill them asap, hoping to get a lucky Firespit or 2 then take your time on the WHM and BST type who can toss their weapon. The last 2 runs I have yet to have a weapon toss not miss me and last night we had neither Flash or Mambo. Approximately 2500/20000 points for myself and Moot for this staging point.
Finally we attempted Seagull Grounded in Periqia. This is a much more straightforward proposition being a simple escort mission, but we seemed to have a bit of difficulty with the Corsair and couldn?t get him to move in some instances (he seems to get bothered by his escorts getting too close to him) and we ran out of time.
Still, completing Golden Salvage put me 4/5 on level 1 Assaults and the 5 or 6 repeat runs in Lebros Cavern to obtain a Chivalrous Chain were enough to rank up. Still want to complete Seagull Grounded (may be reattempting tonight) and I also feel Golden Salvage deserves a rematch.

Just to keep you guys updated...
I'm currently slap-bang in the middle of learning Chinese Mandarin and I'm awaiting my English teaching guidebooks to turn up. I need to prepare my lesson plans and present them to my agency's HQ before I arrive in Shanghai at the end of September. This new job of mine is taking a helluva lot of forward planning although once the initial 3-6 months is out of the way it should be just a matter of repeating myself.
I need to start selling my stuff. As soon as my projector is sold I can buy one of these: http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/pr...hs1&l=en&s=dhs and then get PC FFXI installed. I won't have any other consoles with me apart from my DS and PSP so FFXI will probably become my main gaming focus outside of the arcades, that's if I have the time for games.
We need to remember that I'll be on 8hrs ahead if I ever get back to playing again, so at least me and Darwock will be knocking about together. The thing is I reckon I'll be teaching six days a week, maybe sometimes seven so I can't really afford to mess up my sleeping pattern with huge FFXI seshes like I've done in the past.
PS Darwock... Hired Rising Sun last night, watching it tonight.Last edited by dataDave; 10-08-2006, 13:35.

I thought you were donating the PJ to a NPC? That's what I'm doing with mine. No point in it sitting in a loft in Arrapago Reef though, it may as well be used, and I got so fed up with time-wasters etc from selling my console stuff that I cannot be bothered with the hassle of trying to sell on the AH. The gil would be nice mind, but sell it online I'd probably only be getting a fraction of it's worth.
RE: rising sun - pay attention to the Kouhai/Senpai ****! I showed that film to my mate before we went over there... we met a bunch of people in a town called Katsuura, they didn't speak a word of english but were trying to ask us about ourselves.. reasons for our visit etc. After explaining we weren't brothers and all that they clocked me as the senpai, with my mate being the kouhai... I've never been so chuffed/flattered, heheh!
(would help if I got the terms the right way round)Last edited by Darwock; 10-08-2006, 14:22.
