Absolutely dying to get back to PLD, but I'm afraid the BGs in WoW are just too addictive... The PvP is absolute genius, especially when you're taking out pimped (twinked) Paladins with a couple of overclocked crit. shadow bolts whilst you seduce their back-up with the Succubus.

Darwock man, get back on it! Tons of stuff to do now.

It's amazing man, even without the PvP.

Was out farming some troll ears for a quest the other night - and I kept claiming the relevant pops with my instant casts. This other Druid guy was obviously well pissed off at me stealing everything so he challenged me to a duel... We kick off and more mobs pop, so I seduce the Druid, kill the fresh pops, then get back to killing him. >< b

That sounds like fun - what class are you Davi? I had a Warlock back when I played and I hear its a fun job to play and quite overpowered.

Also been thinking of returning to WoW, but only after I sort my PC - to be honest, I just can't find that much to do in this anymore and I know it sounds stupid but thats what I've come to see. All this end game stuff is ok I guess, but I just find much of it dull. My lack of cash is also becoming far more a problem, to the point where almost all of my old gear has been sold for ammo of all things

End game stuff practically throughout, hence needing to be pimped @ 19, 29, 39 etc for BGs.

Anyway enough WoW talk before we get shot down. lol

Lv.39 Female Blood Elf Warlock (0/0/30). -_<b

It's like RDM, SMN + BST all at once. lol. Fully Destruction specced for crit. hit increase + 100% Crit. bonus dmg.

It's funny - Went from a girly Demonology build + gear for normal levelling (all talents spent on my Demon pets for taking on more than one mob at once, nice pretty robes etc) to an all out PvP black, leather-clad evil crit.nuking motherbitch overnight.

Saving gold now to get ALL my gear enchanted for Shadow Damage, I'm already at +140 shadow dmg but you can never have enough. No EXP from BGs meaning I can cane these whilst my mates catch up to lvl 39 so we can all go questing as a group again. Getting 3 Marks of Honor for each win also, which all add up to buy decent end of lvl bracket gear/end-game gear with.

Whoever picks this up please make sure you're Horde (+ Ghostlands (euro) server with me!!).

----

Some video of an in-game funeral on Youtube, a popular WoW player died IRL so they held a united funeral for him in a contested area (idiot move). The organisers got everyone to turn up without weapons (both Horde + Alliance players), now this guy obviously had a lot of haters as the funeral got raided by a load of Horde players with everyone involved getting a total beasting. LOLz!!

Search for 'Serenity Now WoW raid' on youtube for loads of random forum drama + action.

So, Eye of the Tiger BCNM50 in November? Don't go and tell me you already beat it and gave all loot to Davi....
Not really generally unlucky as R/E droppage hasn't been so bad (BLM subligar after two kills, B.Boots after three, M.Earring after one), just unlucky with wanting all the best stuff that costs millions.

My BCNM luck goes from winning 800k from a 'your orb, your drop' BCNM30 pick-up party to throwing 120 seals going after a Penitent's Rope from BCNM60. I have 58 seals left, one more shot at it and if no luck again then BLM60/WHM60 will be on hold until I lvl THF+NIN.

Saying that, I've just got my (main) original character on Seraph after all this time, so when I do return it will be on getting him up to speed with the now much easier CoP missions. I also don't seem to have the same urgency to own all the best gear with PLD so progressing with that won't be as painful (or as enjoyable no doubt). NQ + R/E ftw I suppose.

-----

Looking at some of the equipment I used to want really badly I'm now seeing absolutely no value in it whatsoever.... 250k for a rope that gives INT+MND +5? 1.4mil for a 'required' WHM tunic? It doesn't matter how long you've been playing, 1.4mil will take a seriously long time to save up and is just ludicrously overpriced... I could probably make about £2,800 from doing web banners for some crap Manchester Ad agency in the time it'd take me to make 1.4mil through farming crap, BCNM + tellehs. Not worth it. Nor will it ever be.

Not unless I do get to endgame and start giving 36-38 dmg with Ancient2 magics like Dara does. I'd hate to get that far and then realise "yeah, after 120days of gameplay my character is actually fair ****! woo!".

Without all the best gear I'll have been playing nothing but a glorified Animal Crossing all this time.

----

But yeah, it'd be good to have you back Darwock. That 2-3 Dragon duo run was ace.

1.4 million assume thats the nobles? That one usually comes later, p rope is more important mind.

It's not to bad these days, seriously most people can make that gil in a week with minimal research and about 28 hours spare

I'd guess without farming most of us must tickover at around 200 - 300k per week. That's without actually trying to make gil, that just randomly turns up from various drops and a bit of AH manipulation.

Rember the old days farming at 100k an hour when a Haubie was 7 million took me 4 damned weeks to make that then .

One thing I would say never use BCNMs with less than a high drop rate %. 1/36 on PCC BC is around average, for 36 runs you're looking at 18 hours (ish) with the rest and travel time. You'd make more by farming than getting the charm, only use high percentage BCs and never for a specific item. For example p rope at current is 1 run of a BC20.

Those BC50s were madness, I got my sly gauntets a while back for 50k. Price has gone on them really, for the 3 man 50s I'd only every try manaburn now...

200-300k a week WITHOUT trying? I'm lucky if I make that in a month WITH trying - what's the secret?

Basically, the only stuff thats worth farming these days comes from mobs that can't be soloed or drops that take so much ****ing time to actually obtain a normal person would get tired and give up way before it drops. That said, I do tend to be random with my farming trips, maybe I need to do them during full moons.

BC and KSNM drops (when I rarely actually partake in one) are for the most part absolute ****. What I don't understand is how a drop that can only be obtained through a BC60 would be worth less than 10k - who gives a **** if its common, just think about how long it takes an average person to come up with 60 seals -_-

I think that's quite a bold statement mate.

Im with Tsing its true, ive been doin the same BC and ODS ever since i can remember and it makes me a nice bit of gilz too Please dont mention the BC you know which one it is.

Im down on gil atm but thats because i spent a massive amount on Algol.

I need to do a ODS run this week, if anyones up for it. Gil does just tend to come in without me even tryting thou.... I can afford x2 limbus run a week which tbh is all that concerns me atm.

Yeah, it's true there is still some gil to be made there but all that stuff is practically end-game and doesn't account for the majority of players. Anyone attempting to take a normal route to 75 is going to have to really tramp it over some levels, and that just takes all enjoyment out of the game for me. When I'm on PLD I'm just a levelling machine, and care little about gear though so that's cool.

Which one's that then? I certainly don't know which BC it is - I can't remember the last time I did a BC with anyone let alone you.

I'd say the level is fairly irrelevant it's how you use what you have that makes the money. 80% of what I do a level 50 can do, a good 50% a level 30 can. Level is one of the smallest determining factor in gil making (outside BCs), what it does give you is a wider range of choice and hence pretty much exempts you from market changes. What you'll find though is most find a gil making principle at around 30 and then use it forever, trouble is they're the obvious ones so the market i flooded.

A perfect example of that was grain seeds, used to be a tidy earner but they are now seriously over farmed and hence not really worth a look. Same for taru rice growing due to over supply that market crashed, cause and effect of to many grain seeds. There's plenty more examples but pretty much if you read it in a guide it's gone the same way.

The end game gil fountains aren't all they're cracked up to be too many in end game now.

As for what I do I'm hardly going to post it, all that achieves is everyone else using it and me having to find something new

I could use another ODS DJ but need a split to make sure of some gil. Got a load of seals dropping solo levelling NPC and Great Sword.

Grain seed farming was ace. I used to remember thinking how the hell could anyone possibly be skint on this game when you can make 50k an hour at lv.10. I even looked into gardening and bought a load of pots (that I still have collecting dust). Far too many people obviously cottoned on though. ; ;

There's very little I can't benefit from drops-wise in the starting areas... but nothing makes more money then standing around a city with an open invite log waiting for someone to ask for a telleh, which is pretty sad as I consider that a cheap way around the gil obstacle, especially now as there is little point to standing around Jeuno anymore.

From now distant memory self gil accumulation is one of the more satisfying aspects of the game, and trust me I've spent many days here at work on FFXIAH.com looking for more methods but can't find any. Farming/synthing sheep leathers was my last attempt but I was better at farming grain and selling for crap prices in the long run, even if it did come with free meat jerkies.
