I think tob is thinking of compression & transfixion

For Light you can do the burn/shock/choke elements so it's fire, thunder, wind and light.

Darkness gets the frost/rasp/drown elements so ice, earth, water and dark.

Tali said earlier he was going to lvl blm which was lvl10, which would mean Light and dark lvl1 (aka compression & transfixion).

With tali being nearly lvl70 i hoping he would know about Light/Dark lvl3

Thats what I was looking for D - Cheers.

It seems that its only recently my parties have been doing these MB's (always Dark so far) and I have been using Stone and Water III with great results. I was just not 100% sure how it worked for MB's with the two elements.

Hey, a guy can't know everything and just because I know what to do, it doesn't mean I always know why!!!

Caedarva Mire right outside the Azouph Isle staging point entrance. Can't remember if I was the lowest one in the party at that level or not, but I was definitely fighting them at 68.

(this was before the mire had started turning into valkurm dunes for high levels... it might not be very good due to competition now, i don't know.)

Tal if your ever lost as to what you can burst on light or dark open your equipment window. The elements shown on the same line as the +/- stats for each of light and dark are what bursts them ^^

Imp camps are heavily used but still generally give good xp. I think about 68 is as low as you want to try them, mostly as the tank will lose hate. Amnesia stops all job abilities working and if you can chain imps your tank will have no voke about 50% of the time. I gain hate with flash and keep it with damage until JA's are up.

D is also right the competition is fierce, your puller needs to be good. We usually run 3 pullers in most parties.

Nah PLD and NIN are both fine, doesn't need a specific tank. Just one thats able to think about things beyond hitting provoke every 30 seconds.

It's a popular meriting spot though Dj so there will likely be 3 or 4 lvl75 parties there as well that will likely outpull you and kill a lot quicker.

There are likely much better EXP camps at 68. Certainly in my last 2 months of meriting I don't recall seeing any parties that low there.

ah rite ok, me and tali are gonna do some exp later was just woundering if there was some place in the new areas were we could. Anyone any ideas?

For 68 I'd recommend the Ziz camp in Mamook, made a lot of xp there but you do need a WHM with Stona for quick kills or a thf to SATA onto the petrified PLD after pull.

There is the spider camp there as well but Bibiki Bay is still also very good, I think sky is to but have never really partied there.

Rare makes a very good point about the mire you will be against 74 and 75 parties and they kill very fast.

You want to avoid Bibiki Bay if you got the expansion - even without the astral candesense the exp is still better in Imperial controled zones due to the fact that the mobs are far easier to kill. There may be higher lvl mobs in Bibiki bay which might mean the odd 20 extra exp per kill, but the downtime you usually get from them isn't worth it.

As for a spot to exp at your lvl, I'd recommend mount Zhayolm - Wamouras/Wamoura princes/ebony flans (although the latter are usually camped by manaburns) are pretty easy to kill, especially with mages.

All sounds like good stuff from the guys above me. I was lvl70 by the time ToAU came out and never EXPed there until 72/73 so I'm unsure of what your options are at 68. I do know the old zones though.

Obviously Bibiki Bay is the catch all zone from 62-70 (and beyond) and I think Boyahda Tree is also an option then too.

A little known camp is Cape Terrigan by the Cloister of Glaes. Bit of a trek if you don't have the OP warp but you can EXP off Greater Manticores for nice EXP. If you are able to, I'd advise trying to get a BRD and NIN. The Manticores have a naturally slow attack speed which when combined with Elegy and Hojo (ninjutsu Slow) makes them incredibly easy to blink-tank. I partied there once and was able to EXP in the Haubergeon and despite the -25 evasion (including Kote) took about 5 hits in 2 hours of EXPing. Only damage came from Flame Breath which ignores utsusemi but have to give the healers something to do

They do have higher than normal HP so you need a powerful skillchain and magic burst (Darkness ideally).

The imps I fought in the levels prior to 70 were the best experience experiences I ever had.. averaging 400xp per kill on fast chains with empress bands. It was unbelievable. Last time I was there however the zone was filled with shouts of people telling other people to naff off back to sky blah blah blah... basically the type of petty crap I hadn't seen since my dunes days. It was great for a while though ^^
