Final Fantasy XI Then...

Not planning to EXP tonight. Some TV I watch at 9 on Thursday evenings which basically comes slapbang in the middle of the evening which is not good for EXP. That is why I suggested Assault for later in the evening.

Don't want to be too late tonight so Assault sounds good to me. What time are you back on after TV Rare?

Itinerary:

Start with Seagull Grounded (if people don?t mind)
Clear a second level 2 (suggest Lebros Cavern or Mamool Ja Training Grounds)
Open choice (I?m open to suggestions on this one. Can clear a second level 2 if desired or complete one that we have previously done, level 1 or 2, to amass some Assault points).

I think that makes 7 people interested so far (before even looking for interest on the LS). Obviously 6 is the limit per run.

However, we?ve completed a fair few recently with fewer than 6 people so there is always the option of splitting the group down into 2 smaller groups. Assaults are usually more interesting this way (myself, Tobal and beregorn had a particularly cool run at Leujaoam Cleansing the other evening where we finished with literally seconds to spare) and you also get higher Assault point awards in smaller groups.

It also depends on who wants to attend what run.

Also Dara, what Staging Points do you have? Seagull Grounded is in Periqia (Dvucca Isle Staging Point) which is the one where you have to go through Arrapago Reef and back out into Caederva Mire (do not confuse with Azouph Isle Staging Point which is what is used for the majority of Caederva EXP parties).

Well I?m game I?m happy to help out with Seagull grounded if people need it though equally I?m happy to stay out of the run so that those that need it can get it. I would like to clear level 2s mainly so I?m interested in all of those, if there?s one we know how to do repeating that would be good.

Assault really is a more the merrier thing in my book as people can drop in and out to suit who wants what. If anyone who is 7-2 sandy and above that I could really use clearing that BC. Basically should just need a sleepga / horde lullaby and some DD and we?ll slaughter it.

If there?s a bunch of us we could easily farm the acid as well, maybe do some other quests. I know I need to clear up the two horn the savage and the die is cast as well as get moving on the picture one.

Going to start tonight though by sticking my flag up and camping the Dune Widow. Once I?ve killed that going after the acid if there?s no invite and rank 8.

I've got all the staging points apart from Dvuuca Isle, which is typical really as its usually the one I don't have that everyone goes for

I could try and head out there with someone in an attempt to obtain it, that is if my broadband connection doesn't go down again what with this weather.

Quick question regarding ranking up in Assault:

Going from PSC to PFC involves accumulating 25 rank points (5 points for first clearing a mission the first time, 1 point for each successive win). Presuming that PFC > what ever next rank is is also 25 points, do points only count from PFC missions or any?

I've cleared 2 PFC missions now (so 10 points) but last night was my first win at Seagull Grounded which is PSC. Is that another 5 points?

Well, it?s Friday morning, my last day before I?m off for 2 weeks and I?m bored. So thought I?d post some of my pics for you lucky people (I think they are mostly spoiler-free).


This was in December 2004 and doesn?t seem like a massively interesting picture. However if you look at my hand you will see a shuriken. This was immediately after an update where S-E announced ?new graphics for throwing items?. Before this we threw nothing when using shurikens. I took this picture to post on Allakhazam in order to impress all the other NINs. No one cared!


Me and Wedge in Kuftal Tunnel. Was lvl59 and had just come away from a successful Dark Spark party and obtained my lvl60 Ninja Tekko. Was about 400tnl so decided to head there to get the level I needed soloing Robber Crabs. Bumped into Wedge on the way in Western Altepa Desert and he agreed to help out. We literally kicked ass as a duo and took this picture to celebrate our full AF.


Christmas Eve 2004. Me and Van decided to skill up some skills from 0 and I chose Marksmanship so this was my first go at Gun Ninja.


Old members Took this as we gathered in Jeuno before heading off for Castle Zvahl to battle Shadow Lord. One of the best nights in the game. Wedge was also in the group but absent from the picture (probably buying meds at the Auction House). Sadly, never got any pics of the battle itself but Wedge did video it which I still have.


My first picture of me in my Scorpion Harness. Can?t believe I almost quit over this item but it gave me the confidence to think I can achieve anything.

After helping Moot with this I headed to the spawn area for Poisonhand Gnadgad. This is the NM that drops Jujitsu Gi which I had sold a few weeks earlier to fund Scorpion Harness but which I wanted back for 40 cap events (had CoP in mind specifically). Only one other camper and I start killing placeholders. 20 minutes in I see him spawn but I am midfight. Change target and hit Provoke?

Having some decent lvl40 gear meant I was then able to complete the fellowship quest and partner up with Fhig Lahvre.

When camping pirates, one trip the Sea Horror spawned. Only me and Talizker at the time but we decide to give it a go.



We look to be getting the win then the boat docks leaving us without victory. However we meet up with Tsing at port and take the return trip. The beast is still on board and the battle recommences.





Result?

Rargh victory of course. I think almost all of us have fell victim to the Horror in our early adventuring days. Getting revenge was sweet.

Me and Fhig battle Antican Praefectus. Save the Queen never dropped but it was a great, long fight. Damn PLD defence combined with Antican VIT.

Shame to miss last night but I was played out before we got to the assaults, needed a break. REally do nee to get some L2s done though. Think that may now be my main target over the next 2 weeks, complete all L2s and hopefully get started on L3s.

On the upside though the ghost NM and Jody's Acid drop out of the way so on the BC now for ToAU. We should start to look at putting together some runs on this, if we keep up to speed with this one we could get the whole LS through as the BCs are made available with each release.

Not sure whether to play tonight or take a break, plan may be log in stick my flag up and do other stuff. You never know the elusive invite may come ><

So far Tobal on SAM and me on PLD, I could use some advice on this as I've never set one up. Would you be interested on BRD wedge?

I dont think I could exp bard tonight, its just not an enjoyable experience in merit parties, pull, sleep, pull, sleep and so on, I prefer the old style even though its less exp.

We can chose how we exp mind, after all it is our party. We could even go to sky and there's always BST wasn't sure what level you are on that though.
