Final Fantasy XI Then...

Not been doing much this week. Attended Dynamis-Jeuno on Wednesday but had to leave before I achieved clear status as it was 2am.

Last night I headed over to Labyrinth of Onzozo to level my NPC. She?s currently hovering around halfway between 62 and 63 so it?s getting close to being capped and I seem to have finished the storyline completely. However wasn?t fully concentrating as I was speaking with Van at the same time and ate a Manticore Deadly Hold full on killing me :/

However, Vanicent is fast approaching lvl40 RNG and with that in mind I have a few ideas.

BCNM40 ? probably Steamed Sprouts. A decent first time BCNM for him to try as it isn?t too taxing and can bring in a nice bit of gil if you get a couple of Utsusemi: Ni drops. I need around 4m for Marine M Boots so gil is always nice.

Tres Duendes ? I think we have 3 people who are all interested in owning a Chiroptera Dagger (Rabs, Tobal and Vanicent) so we may need multiple attempts at this. Pretty sure we can accomplish this with 6 people providing we have 2 capable to keeping a mobs attention. Probably best to have a Treasure Hunter too as our previous 2 kills have only netted us a Niokiyotsuna which no one is interested in I don?t think.

Chains of Promathia ? this is the biggie. Me, Moot and Apa have been stalled at The Savage for months now because of a lack of a healer. However when Van gets lvl40 chapters 2 and 3 open up to him and he is currently on the Mammets battle (my favourite CoP fight so far). With Beregorn currently on the Minotaur it makes sense to take him with us but also Kuponut who needs 2 Promyvions.

So after speaking with a couple of people last night the plan will hopefully be to start with helping Kuponut clear Promyvion perhaps even this weekend if possible. Party setup so far will be:

Beregorn (I think he can bring a SMN/whm)
Kuponut (WHM/blm)
Moot (WAR/nin is current plan)
Rarehero (NIN/war)
Vanicent (RNG/war)

This leaves us with 1 spot open which I think with what we have so far can be pretty much anything so if anyone can help let me know (may require some anima farming so please be aware of this). Moot is currently available as WAR/nin so we have the safe dual-Utsusemi tanking setup, but if the 6th person is able/willing to come as WAR/nin Moot can come as BLU.

This will hopefully be followed by clearing chapters 2 and 3 after which Vanicent will need lvl50 before he can continue but will provide us with 2 further WHM on Chapter 4 and hopefully allow others of us to continue on.

I will be in a Promyvion to obtain a Tactic?s Pearl this evening and will farm some anima at the same time to get this started.

I would think BLM would be absolutely fine. Apathye has done all CoP missions so far as BLM and hasn?t had any problems.

With this in mind I found an old guide to anima that I pieced together when I was researching for my Promyvion battles this time last year. Thought it may be useful to you as my opinion is that anima is not optional.

3 animas are available to impact on the abilities of the Empty. All of the anima effects last 30 seconds.

Hysteroanima:
Prevents the empty from using TP-based attacks.

Psychoanima:
Prevents the empty from using regular melee attacks.

Terroanima:
Causes the empty to go into a ?panic? state and dash around the arena uncontrollably, preventing the empty from using all types of attacks.


Anima is obtained via the quest ?Empty Memories?, started with Harith in Ru?Lude Gardens. You obtain the appropriate Recollection (dropped from Empty in the 4 Promyvion zones), trade the recollection and 2000 gil to Harith and in return, you receive an anima.

Trade a Recollection of Fear to receive a Psychoanima.
Trade a Recollection of Guilt to receive a Terroanima.
Trade a Recollection of Pain to receive a Hysteroanima


All 3 Recollections are obtainable in all 3 of the initial Promyvion zones but the type of Empty they drop off varies from zone to zone. Seethers only appear from level 2 onwards so be aware that if you wish to farm all 3 Recollections on level 1(the easiest), you will need 2 travel to at least 2 Promyvions.

In Promyvion-Dem:
Wanderers drop Recollection of Pain
Weepers drop Recollection of Guilt
Seethers drop Recollection of Fear

In Promyvion-Holla:
Wanderers drop Recollection of Fear
Weepers drop Recollection of Pain
Seethers drop Recollection of Guilt

In Promyvion-Mea:
Wanderers drop Recollection of Guilt
Weepers drop Recollection of Fear
Seethers drop Recollection of Pain

I think Kupo needs Holla and Mea completing. For Holla I believe we should only need Hystero and Psycho spread across 3 or 4 people (to be used at 75%, 50% and 25%).

For Mea, I feel a couple of Terroanima are safe to have, as it has a move that ignores defence/shadows and reduces your HP by a fixed percentage (think it takes you down to somewhere around 5-10%). Would be best to be able to cause the mob to disengage to allow recovery if this move is used.

Also, please note that Kuponut isn?t aware of any of this yet so it may not be going ahead. He only plays at weekends as I believe he is back at college/uni so has more limited playtime. However I do know he wants to get Promyvions cleared so if it doesn?t happen this weekend it will hopefully happen soon. Moot will hopefully be speaking with him regarding this.

I just logged on for some exp last night, got 8k into 73 ^^ upgraded my earrings and grabbed myself a Vampire Cloak to help make exp faster.

Rare im up for that BCNM40 I have 40 Seals atm and really need to get some cash in for a Bomb Core, Assault Earring and Snipers Ring.

I got my AF2 Feet in Dynamis Bastok, which is cool. Doubt ill ever use them as the current gear i have is better but hey u never know. (Spell Casting Drk O.o)

Ill help with CoP too as im upto Diablos and ill want help with that when you guys get up to it. ^^

I've just checked, and I have a terroanima, and a hysteroanima. If I need a psychoanima, then I'll try and farm it over the weekend.

Also, I'm 2k away from level 39. I should be able to get that on a decent party tonight, then I can use the Dobson's Bandana that I had actually forgotten I had (thanks for the reminder Rare).

I've been using the ePassport thing for paying for my account. A debited $50 into it when I started FFXI back in May. As you all know this lasted 2 months before POL kicked me out saying "The card was declined/lack of funds". I check my ePassport account and there is $35 just sitting there doing nothing.

Doesnt surprise me one bit mate, they cut me off at the beginning of this month, rang them up and they said it was there mistake and ill be charged double next month ><

That's exactly what they've just said to me.

I need to re-enter all my details, eventhough they are the same, and re-activate all my content IDs.

The said it randomly doesn't transact sometimes and that I will get charged for 2 months up front.

I think the auto-update has been ballsed somewhere meaning you have to do it manually every two months.

Not been playing much this week, mainly due to last weekends hakutaku eye farming messing up my sleep pattern, also the fact that everytime I log on the stuff I need to sell just wont sell leaving me with hardly any money to do stuff with.

When do people wanna do the next O.Hat run and Divine Might I started to think will probably need some collaboration with another LS, even though we have enough people there is no way everyone will be online at the same time.
