LOL - it was fun anyway, you can't always win 'em. A win would have been perfect though considering it only took us about 10mins to get up there. lol.

For me this weekend = 2 levels of cooking, 2 levels of BLM (38-40), successful ENM30, failed Holla, and still a recollection of fear left over. Not bad considering I only spent around 10 hours in-game.

Yeah, my mistake mate, I read you wrong. Van's EES signal just needs a wait5 or something on the end of our anima macros FTW next time.

I'm up for a run whenever, just PM me when you want to go anima farming Rare, I still have a recollection of fear I'll convert next time I'm on.

Also it may be worth the mages staying on the ledge out of sleep range if the pots do run out or if the **** hits the fan or whatever. Standard Mandragora tactics FTW. I never like getting close to enemies anyway, let alone boss type ones.

Mind, this is the sort of boss where if anything goes slightly wrong that's it. Once you give it breath for a second it's over.

Yeah I agree. I was kicking myself after I logged off as it was such a stupid thing to recommend Van to EES on the anima call and he should have gone after the anima had been used. EES will almost certainly pull hate and having the anima used gives us 25 seconds to pull hate back with the mob doing nothing. Still we learn from our mistakes and I much prefer to play, fail and learn from it for the win next time.

Let?s see what we can do for another run. Me and Moot are both up for trying again and both have the anima needed. Sounds like you?re up for trying again and I can help you farm your remaining recollection whenever you want. Hopefully Kuponut is not so disheartened that he wishes to pull out and he still has anima but WHM in anima cycle is really last resort.

Just the 2 DD needed both of which I would like to have anima so if anyone volunteers I will help them farm the recollections too.

Disappointing weekend all told. Started well enough with anima farming on Friday for our planned attempt at Promyvion-Holla for Kuponut and Davi on Saturday. Myself, Moot and Davi all get anima and I also obtained a second set of recollections. Vanicent had 1 anima already.

Followed this up with a Promyvion-Dem ENM30 which was an interesting win (finally got to PT with Tobal?s COR ), and on the journey up we picked up aggro which dropped the remaining anima Van needed which was fortunate.

So Saturday gave us the main battle with the following setup:

NIN/war
NIN/war
BLU/thf
RNG/war
BLM/whm
WHM/blm

I provided everyone with 2 Poison Pots as that is what we used on my previous successful attempt. And everything went well to start with. Damage was consistent and we hit 75% and used the first anima combination. 50% soon followed but by this point I was slightly concerned as the 2 NIN hadn?t gotten a nice Provoke/Utsusemi rhythm sorted but we used the next anima combo. Between 25% and 50% Van?s damage started to mount up and the combination of this with the lack of decent enmity meant he started to pull hate but the final 25% anima call was made which was also agreed as the signal for Van to use Eagle Eye Shot. Well he pulled hate immediately and because the animas hadn?t been used yet ate an Empty Cutter which killed him.

Things went downhill from here, in most part because I think everyone panicked and didn?t give any thought as to what to do.

We got it down to 5% but then we simply couldn?t hit the boss to finish it off and the battle got extended beyond the duration of 2 Poison Pots which obviously stuffed things up. That combined with the NM using it?s drain TP attack meant we couldn?t finish it. So annoyingly close.

What frustrated me were comments afterwards which basically focussed on the loss being due to not enough Poison Pots and not having a SMN. This kind of thinking annoys me as I went through the chatlog to check for clues as to what went wrong and it was stupid mistakes:

Myself and other NIN never used the Hi-Pots we brought for some reason.

I know one of the mages still had the Hi-Ethers left over after the fight.

I'm also unsure if the BLM used Manafont.

Melee were blind towards the end of the fight! - This I think is the biggie. I wondered why my attacks became a total whiff-fest. In an attempt to do as much damage as possible I was spamming shurikens none of which hit. Had we spotted this sooner and got Blindna I reckon it would have been finished.

All things considered it was incredibly close and I hope we can try again next weekend (maybe Friday evening)

To all you others on this ENM, stuff your Smn crap you dont need anymore than what you had.

You think your going to win everything first time think again, Promyvions are a real test, the best thing you can do is look at how the last fight went wrong and come more prepared next time, don't complain and all that crap, looking for a easy fix, you got your team and it is what it is and you can win with that setup, get back in there and keep trying untill you get it.

I dont think any of us had a smooth time passing Promyvions, I think I beat Dem first time, then failed Mea twice maybe and holla took at least four tries to beat.

I do need to collect a new tactics pearl at some point amongst the 4 million other things I have on. Think that ones key mind to start getting through the Windurst missions, reckon I'll try to solo 6-1 and 6-2.

No, I didn't, and thinking back to it now, it was stupid. The reason I didn't was because I was afriad that as soon as I rasied myself, it would charge towards me again, and kill me, getting me nowhere.

That probably wouldn't have happened though, since, when I eventually did raise myself, it didn't even twitch in my direction.

Will need a volunteer for this most likely, and maybe 2 depending if Van can attend the next attempt.

I'll try and remember that, and then count to 5 before triggering the macro. Or, better still, maybe I should edit the macro so that there's a /wait 5 line between announcing the move, and then using it. That should help.


Finally, I will be needing anima before attempting this again. I think I've only got one now, so I'll have to get the other two.

Either way mate. If the anima ppl have a /wait5 macro it'll tell you exactly when to do it, coupled with a noise, and then your macro can have a 2/3 second delay as well just to make sure.

Don't the animas work for 30seconds? That's tons of time for EES.

I need to get my elemental colours sorted out. I may be colour blind with a couple of the elements as I can never seem to work out the difference between pink and light blue, they look the same to me.

I also struggle with the colours but when we were farming the other night I think I spotted that the ?core? of the Empty not only has a different colour but also form depending on its current elemental affinity.

For example when it was Thunder element the core seemed to be a ball of electricity.

It's brought on from previous FF games, as whenever a character I was controlling died while fighting a boss, I used to revive the character, only to have the boss kill him/her again on the next immediate move, so I was wasting spells or items.

EDIT: Eagle Eye Shot macro has been altered now. There should be a five-second gap between me saying "Using Eagle Eye Shot!" and actually using the attack.

I'll "test" it next time we go to Promyvion.

Guys ill help with the promies if u need a DD, i have Drk, War will be at 37, and Thf at 37. Im planning on lvlin nin but doubt illl have that up in time for it so i guess drk/war would be the best.

Promies put me through a whole world of pain when i did them, im 1/1 on Holla and Dem but went 1/6 on MEA!!! I hated it. But im up for it!

Had a good last few days hit 35 with war so soon ill be able to use that as a sub. Picked up a few grps for Assault nearly have enough points for my chiv chain!! Although i need the cash so thinking about selling it ><

Off work this week so hopin to hit 37 with War, and 75 with Drk!!

After that im gonna rest drk up and lvl blm for a while and do events like Assault, CoP and hopfully pick up my O-Hat. Also really need to raise some cash for some new equip.
