Sorry Yakumoto. I'm sure they look good on the DVD Version. But when things are compressed down they don't look so good.

Seems my version of XVid was out of date or something. Dloaded and installed it again and works grand.

Le Mans sure is pretty isn't it? That along with Under Defeat just shows how well the DC keeps up with the likes of the PS2. Looks bloody gorgeous so it does.

hehehehe, you aren't the only one who noticed that I should really try to get back in to it.

Yeah, I know what you mean there. maybe if I released the download version at a larger screen size with a lower bit rate (To keep the file size down) things may look better. I'll do a few tests.

It sure does !! The Dreamcast really could do some impressive stuff. Just a shame it never lasted in the main stream longer than it did.

Just finished watching 20. Very good episode. I enjoyed the Street Fighter retrospective. What was it you don't like about Street Fighter Zero 3 by the way? I haven't played that installment myself. Had Zero 2 on the Playstation which wasn't bad (with an arcade stick of course).

Nice to see a few Master System games, and a few Arcade games like Rail Chase that didn't ever get a home conversion.

That version of Virtua Fighter was hilarious as well. I wondered why on earth Sega did a Mega Drive version of VF. But they did it on the MS as well! Madness.

Well i always felt with every time a streetfighter game has been released the impact lessened because i knew what to expect and there was more competition at the time to.

By the time it got to streetfighter 3 while it was a great game i think because of so many sequels/prequels and so much competition it could be why it did not have the impact it should have (well in england anyway)

Watching the saturn shooter special has convinced me to get a few games like cotton boomerang and dodonpachi and a few others

Really could not believe how many there were.
were the makers of metal black involved with border down ? (i ask because the beam systems seems similar)

Would you be shocked if I told you that G-Rev came from Taito? And yes some members were involved with Metal Black

G.Rev has a Gradius V connection as well dont they? Help Treasure out or something. Possibly.... maybe. Okay Im making this up.

LOl @ Yakumo wanting Electronic Arts to go the way of Acclaim (your comment in retrocore #20). I share your sentiments. Unfortunately it's not going to happen :P

Yakumo - I noticed in Retrocore 20 that you didnt give review scores (well you didnt for Wild Traxs (SFC). Have you gone EDGE magazine on us for one issue? No morre scores?

Also. I know thsi isnt retro but .... Are you into the Nintendo DS at all Yakumo? JUst wondering because there's a lot of JPN only DS games that intrigue me but that I have no way of seeing unless I buy them. Assuming youre possibly a keen NDS gamer - have you ever considered doing a NDS special? Maybe you coud call it 'Retrocore DS Back to the Future".

                      Okay. Maybe not.

Last thing. In an earlier episode you reviewed a SFC game. Ive been trying to remember the name cause it looked. Basic premise - . Its a side scroller. you're a chick, there are ghosts. You kill them. Its called ......???

Yep they helped on that and G.Rev also did a lot of the work for Ikaruga as well !

Ah, I probably forgot but I'd only give Wild Trax a 7 due to it not being that exciting to be honest and the controls are quite wobbly. I know they could say that's because it's a cartoon racer but more likely because they couldn't tighten them up.

I don't play hand helds to be honest. I have no reason too. I always play on my mobile phone. Yesterday I downloaded Raiden III, Kikikaikai and Ninja warriors. Classic gaming action.

Ah, just like Importaku said, that was Ghost Sweeper Mikami. Wonderful platformer. maybe not the worlds best but still quite challenging fun.

By the way, Retro Core 21 is now available on DVD

MMmmmm ...is it me or do you purposely pick crap N64 games to review? (teasing ). Evangelion 64 sucked. Review that next.

Ghost Sweeper Mikami? Cool. Ill have a look on ebay. From what you showed on retro core it looked pretty damn cool. Is it a rare game? Or should I be able to get it for a reasonable price?

Ive been looking for Wild Guns (SFC). Yet to see a boxed copy anywhere

Dezaemon 3D isn't crap. I love the Dezaemon series As for only covering crap games well..... I said the 2nd Castlevania was good. THe good games in Japan such as Golden Eye, Perfect Dark and so on are expensive (25 pounds plus) so there's no way I'm paying that much just to review a game unless someone donates to the Retro Core fund

You know, I haven't seen a boxed minty ore even a cart of Ghost Sweeper Mikami is a very long time. I'd say it was quite a rare one these days and as for Wild Guns you'd better dig deep to find that one. Truly a rare title but great title.[/QUOTE]
