Vectrex & 4 games - ?120?

Just bought the above. Games are Berzerk, Scramble, Armor Attack and Clean Sweep.

Unit's in decent nick but the joypad is rusty and denuded and will need replacing.

?120? Too much? The moment I saw it I couldn't stop myself buying it *luv*

A bit over the odds I think - you can pick up the system for around 50 quid nowadays and games often pop up for much less than a tenner in decent nick.

But then again, you can't put a price on love...

About ?80-100 on eBay. Minus shipping of course. Faaaaaar cheaper in the States (but then it's ubiquitous there).

I couldn't help myself. I saw it and the retroactive gods themselves cleaved the sacred pillars of Asgard in twain and bade me prostrate myself afore them...

Now: to justify to Mrs. anephric why I splurged ?100 on a rusty, smelly (it does smell, at the mo, of 20-year-old nicotine and crack and such) bleeping big black box of vector-graphic toting plastic.

If the games were complete, then just about worth it. If not, then you paid over the odds, especially with the stick like that. You can get an unboxed Vectrex by itself for around ?60 now.

Nowhere near complete -got the overlays and manuals etc tho: although (the only benefit of working for an engineering firm) one of the chaps in our workshop is gonna recondition the stick for me...

I got one about 6 months ago for ?20 with a few games.... and the best bit was when I turned up to collect it, not only was it in perfect condition, fully boxed, but it was also in the box it was shipped to Woolworths in, marked up with the MB stamp on it! :-)

?200 mint in box. I don't know why the price has dipped, they seem scarce as ever.

They're a lot cheaper in the States, as mentioned above.

Hmph. I cleaned mine up last night and it looked de-lovely once I'd given it a shine with some silicon spray. Still need the pad fixing though.

I'm happy with it, even with my gross overspend.

Yeah price has come down. Dunno where you get them being as scarce, I feel they are easier to find now, people know they are worth ??? and are selling them off.

I paid ?90 for mine loose 5 years ago; as said you can probably get one for ?50-60 now.

They seemed "scarce" to me because I live in a backwoods hinterland.
