    PSO...a blast from the past

Found this screen grab on one of my old computers today and it bought back some great memories (I was G-Wings)...

It was one of the greatest gaming experiences I ever had, I would love to experience something like that again. But nothing else has ever come close.

for me, the PSO experience will never be beaten. The first few months after the JP release was just heaven.

        Fingers crossed for PSU

Im in the process myself of going back online, now that ntl gave me a cable modem instead of the ****ty set top tv box, my broadband adapter finally works after having been sitting for over a year unused on my bookcase.

Bit of a pain though as im going to have to start over from scratch as the very 1st gamecube version is no longer playable online. So i have had to get hold of the plus version. I can transfer my characters over to the newer plus version but it means id lose all my cash & items which im not prepared to do as its gonna be hell trying to get my megadrive & hamburger mags back.

It's been too long since i last visited ragol, hopefully ill get on in time for the christmas quests Yaay.

If you want PSO back in your life, I suggest you get hold of PSO: Blue Burst for the PC. Hella fun, more to it than the GC and Xbox ones and very few american wankers. Being pay to play and it having GMs running about, script kiddies with a hex editor get banned and their money taken from them pretty sharpish.

I played Blue Burst when it was beta. Good stuff, but back then it was only the standard ep1+2 content. Managed to 'finish' it, clearing out all the stages, but there was still a ton of stuff I could've done.
There's some hacker community (who run a private server based on DC v2 for PC, which was only released in japan) who crashed Blue Burst beta, managed to hack and got themselves banned from the game totally.

The private server they made is great stuff if you're still aching to use your DC characters again. DC v2 and PC version are exactly the same so everyone can play on the same server. It still is kind of illegal and therefore I won't give the link, because they're working on getting Blue Burst working in this way, which is still a supported game. Personally, seeing as v2 is unsupported and that the PC version wasnt even released here, I think it's ok, but moderators may see otherwise.

I wasted an entire year of my life on the Dreamcast Phantasy Star Online and Ver. 2. Well I say wasted since they are my wife's words. My words however are Time well spent. I would play PSO almost every day from 11pm to 5am or even 8am at times. My characters were Glacier and Seducer. I mostly hung out on the Japanese servers due to there being less stupid Americans there.

hey, I have PSO ver 2 and episodes 1,2 & 3. I want to get my DC version back online, anyone know how I can connect to private servers or the EU servers (i live in the US). Any help at all would be greatly appriciated.

I THINK that PSO for DC is now offline.

No, the JP and EU servers are still running last time I checked. And the US copies of the DC game are still selling, somehow...

I'm looking forward to Blue Burst and Ep 4. loved the Beta, can't wait for teh English! Yays! I still play on GC as Kizzycrew right now.
