    Decent Videogame OSTs

I'm in the mood for collection some decent videogame OSTs. I've bought some in the past (mainly Castlevania ones) and I'm keen to get my hands on some more. Any recommendations? I'm obviously after games I've played first and foremost (otherwise the music isn't going to mean much) but I'm open to suggestions.

Soundtracks I'm after at the moment are Final Fantasy Tactics and Eternal Arcadia - both can be had on ebay for not much dosh.

    Panzer Dragoon Orta
    Valkyrie Profile
    Gun Valkyrie

    (immediately spring to mind)

Dunno about you though but unless they're 'directly' from the game, I find most OSTs a bit lacking >_<

Agreed, it's gotta be the original music.

Surely this is down to personal taste and such? It's a bit like asking for music CDs and getting anything from the Birdy Song to The Planets Suite.....

Personally I like the hardcore techno that you get on the Ace Driver - Victory Lap or Rave Racer OSTs and couldn't give a monkeys about the Panzer Dragoon, Final Fantasy, etc OSTs...

Original music I would recommend (based on the few osts I own)

          Bare Knuckle
          Bare Knuckle 2
          Shining Force 3
          Metal Slug 2
Yuzo Koshiro Works / Revenge of Shinobi
          Biohazard 2
          Biohazard 3
Prince of Persia (although it doesn't contain the full version of my fav track..the music when you battle your dad early on)

          Arranged soundtracks

Gunstar Heroes is awesome (there is no original version on cd)

            Samurai Shodown 2 CD
Fatal Fury Real Bout Special CD
            Valis III & IV CD

I'm not 100% you can buy these as sepparate AST/OST's, but the game disks work in ure Hi-fi.

As MD says, entirely down to personal preference, but I particularly like RR4, RRV and Rez (not the gamer's guide to, the full tracks). Most folk here won't know it, but the MMO EVE Online has some of the best ambient tracks you'll ever likely hear in a game.

                    Einhander
                    Radiant Silvergun
                    Soul Calibur
                    Borderdown

                    All ace!

                      MD's point illustrated perfectly

I'm not 100% sure it's down to personal taste. I don't listen to classical music but the tracks in Final Fantasy Tactics are awesome, and the best thing is they remind me of the hours I wasted with the game. Likewise, I hate techno music but in the right kind of game, it sounds great.

Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future are great soundtracks especially the songs by Guitar Vader, Guitar Vader Rock Socks!

Also Final Fantasy VI, if only for the opening/theme song, I am doomed to always have that song in my head.
