That one came from yahoo. Tbh the chinese md games (ie with manuals) appear very rarely there. You really need a contact in China or Taiwan. I'm still looking as the language thing really screws it for me sadly and I'm yet to see an english speaking seller.

You can find your more 'traditional' HK pirates on yahoo a little more often - by that I mean 'original' titles like the Marios, Pokemon, KoFs or those scrolling fighters I posted a while back, as opposed to 'normal' pirates which are just fakes of released games.

Thanks for the detailed response. When you say yahoo I take it you mean yahoo Japan auctions?

There's lots of Chinese people in the accomodation that my mate lives in at uni.. could be a source of Chinese MD games..

Are any of the traditional HK pirates actually any good to play? or are they just steaming turds?

        Yahoo auctions, yup

Some are really good to play tbh. The Mario (all stars) is pretty decent, the other Mario (box throwing) has a certain charm I guess but is a bit cack. The best two I have are certainly the scrolling fighters. The various Tekkens are poor, chinese fighter is quite fun. Stuff like the Lion King 2, DK99 are pretty playable etc.

There's a good page with info on the scrollers..I'll try and find the links.

        Edit..and here they are

It's been a while or at least a while for me since I've bought anything so today I got Ultraman on the Mega Drive. It looks just as crap as the SFC version so I'll save it for a rainy day and also Tobal No.1 with the bonus Square preview disc.

Ive not seen the mario ones etc are they proper original games or did they just somehow convert the proper mario games onto Megadrive?

Ive played those two scrolling fighters (dont ask how you may not like the response he he) and they are both really good, Shui Hu Feng Yun Zhuan is kind of repetitive with the moves though, kind of spoils it. The enemies are a bit repetitive too.

The addition of "Sonic 2 in 1" means I only need "Tails Adventure" and "Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine" for a complete PAL Game Gear set of Sonic Games.

You don't appear to have the original Sonic Drift, which was only released in Japan.

Sonic Drift Racing is actually Sonic Drift 2

Still, mighty drool-worthy stuff there, all minty.

I'm only after the EURO/ PAL (whatever Euro-Oz releases are called in Game Gear - I know they're region free!) games.
Labyrinth, 2 in 1 and especially Sonic Blast are awesome little editions to my collection, let's just say that.

No wthat's a nice collection of Sonic Game Gear titkes. Are you just going for PAL or will you stretch out in to the JPN market as well? There were loads of Sonic spin off games over here.

                        Yakumo,
I'm only collecting PAL Game Gear games as a wee aside to my Blue Box MD collection.
Once I got all 50 of the late-release PAL Mega CD games, I felt I needed something to fill the void.

                        Hehe

Only a few key games I'm after. Baku Baku, Galaga 2, Tails Adventure etc

This is a bit pitiful, but I got The City Of Lost Children on PS1, minus book, for 50p from the car boot this morning. Also got complete 2 x VHS Blackadder 2 for the same price, but that's kind of deviating from this thread...

Been saving up a few bits to post - had a few parcels lately but this was the best one last week:

I bought a DC on UK launch day but having bought a few more Japan games lately it was time to get a ?proper? one! Had to be a Sega ?Director? box but opening it to find a minter of a launch model with the original top spec metal fan surround and cooling pipes etc made my day (as discussed in this topic

                                http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showthread.php?t=66467
It seems the single picture Director box is not the only one with this 'metal fan' model.

Got a few SFC bits recently. Brand new Bandai Sufami with Poi Poi - great little Bomberman style game this:

                                Japanese Super Game Boy:

Bit of a theme here - I know The Firemen has a few fans here but Jaleco?s Ignition Factor (Japan ?Fire Fighting?) is a great game too - went for the English language as it has a bit more strategy than The Firemen, even still I?m struggling to get off the first level!

Also, Drift King 2 and Irem?s Major Title (Irem Skins) no pics - bit shallow, my favourite golf games are the T&E Soft Pebble Beach/Augusta games.

                                Fishing game for SFC:

Derby Stallion ?96 Satellaview game - works on a SFC/SNES alone too. Lovely little graphic of the Giga satellite whizzs around the title screen, ahhh, wish it had been launched here. (I have another boxed complete copy for sale if interested).

Super International Cricket for the SNES (trying and failing to do better then England did against the Aussie?s):

Advanced War for the MD - nice accompanying book with this but I bought it really for the superb artwork and game intro:
