A few more items came yesterday through the post. First up is Sonic Gems Collection. I've been out bid on this about 5 times on Yahoo auctions but luckily I found this one at 3600 yen buy now and best of all it's (or was) factory sealed. It's a great disc but I'm a bit dissapointed that Sonic CD is a PC port and not the Japanese Mega CD port. The PC version just doesn't seem as fast. Still, at least it's got the full screen FMV. I'm not too keen on the Sonic R port either. True it looks better than the Saturn version in the textures department but I really miss that fade in look that the Saturn version has plus what's up with the controls? Push a button to go forward? Still, it's not all bad. Sonic the Fighters is cool and well worth the 3600 yen since I've never seen it before. The game gear games are OK. I also heared that Bare Knuckle II and Comix Zone are unlockable. All together a pretty nice collection.
Other stuff I got is Turf Wind '96, Riglordsaga, World Series Baseball 2, Greatest Nine and Greatest Nine '96. Yep, all ****.

All 3 Bare Knuckle's are unlockable Yakumo. Having never played Sonic CD before, i was mostly oblivous to the porting issues you've mentioned, but looking back on your Sonic CD review in Retro Core I could see the underwater levels don't look nearly as nice. Still, (after Sonic the Hedgehog) SCD is definately my favourite Sonic game
Also, if you haven't already got one, try to pick up a "GameBoy Player Digital Controller" by Hori for your 2D gaming like this, it's a brilliant little SFC-style pad.Last edited by Tetsuo; 27-08-2007, 21:42.

They've changed Radiant Emerald greatly though, ditching the transparency in favour or of making the track look almost radioactive. It looks quite impressive, but the transparent track was always the big middle finger up to the people who said that Saturn couldn't do transparencies!

Removed some of the clutter on my A/V stand at the weekend, the PS2 and Gamecube have gone into storage.
Current set up with just the Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast & PC-Engine as my active retro kit. MVS soon to be added.
Todays first arrival was King of Fighter 95, not really a fan of this installment but it does fill a long time gap as I've owned 96 & 97 for some years now. Arrived in very good shape and was sent by Airmail a day after an EMS package got sent and it's here first.
Also wasn't sure whether to post this here or not but here goes. My first MVS cart has arrived before my consolized unit. This is the first time I've seen a Neo Geo cartridge in the flesh and I can only describe it as man sized gaming, they are huge.
KOF2003 (not a full kit, just an art sheet and settings guide, the cart is genuine).
Comparison to the Neo Geo Pocket cart.

Just a few bits, a bit annoyed about the Samba De Amigo, as it left the seller in great condition, and the postie has gone and bashed it a bit... FFS. Still it was £70 for the maracas, Samba De Amigo and Power Stone, posted. Which is still a bargain I guess. The Game Gear games are fully boxed with trays and manuals. I wish picking up JPN GG games was easier though...

Finally manage to borrow a digi camera for a little while.
So here are a few pictures from today's unexpexted haul!
I'll have to give the saturn version a good compare with the PSOne version on Castlevania. Cost me ?45 for the complete LE version which is not a bad price, the shop were I bought it from also wanted ?100 for Suikoden 2 which is way overpriced! The five US CD games cost me ?15 for the lot which isn't bad.
Here a couple of pictures of a few SNES games I've picked up over the past few months.
Putty Squad is the cart only game in the top row and my copy of the ace The Firemen is just above Super Aleste.
Pocky & Rocky 1 and 2, along with King of Dragons, Do ray mi, King Arthur & the Knights of Justice by Enix and Joe & Mac 3, oh and FF4,5 & 6 on PSone.
Some Saturn and DC titles next.
Bit of a mixed bag as you can tell Macross is an ace game. Virtual Hydlide sucks big time, but less than 30 titles for a complete PAL set!
Last but not least I'm going to be a bit of a show off as I don't think many of you really know what an RPG nut I am! So here is a couple of picture of my SNES RPG collection!
After taking these two pictures I remember what game was missing!!
Got to love EarthBound, that's just my SNES RPG collection and it's no where near finished also have a couple of incomplete titles.
TOP, FEDA and the SFC Devil Megami game are all missing the manuels!
The first Fire Emblem doesn't have the command card!
Soul Blazer & Illusion of Time don't have maps!
Actrasier 2 is cart only and the UK version of shadowrun doesn't have a box!
But it looks nice them all together.
[Edit hmm it's appears the bandwidth of my site gone down so if you can't see my pictures, I've uploaded three of them to NTSC, the band width will be back in a hour.]Last edited by S3M; 28-08-2007, 16:32.
