reason i said remove it is because it could affect Yakumo's status and nobody wants that, maybe he should be forced to do another retro-core to please the Ntsc-uk gods

hahaha, if I had the time I'd gladly do so.

I've removed what I wrote. You guys are right, he's not worth it. I'll just ignore anything else he has to say.

I saw that. Easy tiger, don`t get your shell suite in a twist.

Anyway...True story, retro game related. There was this bloke at my Secondary school, in my form actually. His name was Trevor Wilson. He was quite hard and popular and he also claimed to be the best in the whole school at Street Fighter 2. That was fair enough, he loved games and could of well been. There was no real way of knowing though as he hadn`t played every contender around a house at that point. However, the `fair` was coming to town and they always had SF2` CE in a lovely Electrocoin Duet (you know, the classic 2P sit-down ones they still have in Casino). There was someone else who claimed to be pretty handy at SF2 also, me, but that is irrelavent to the story really.

The night came. A hot summers night. Trevor VS myself, `the year` watching. He was very good but it was a 2-nil whitewash. Hands were shook and more important things of drinking cider (LOL) and getting off with birds ensued. That was the end of it...or so it should of been...

A while later Trevor was back to his old tricks. In form time he was banging on about being the best at SF2. Someone reminded him of that fateful night.

This is where his life changed forever.

        He replied to this question:

"Yeah, but why did you lose then?"

He really was so sincere and replied with a totally straight face but as soon as he said it you knew he regretted it but could never go back.

        He said...

        He said...

"I had a fly in my eye."

That was it. After the initial silence, kids were rolling around the floor laughing, some were even crying with laughter, even girls that weren`t interested were laughing their heads off.

From then on throughout his whole Secondary school career, this phrase haunted him.

        Even teachers said it.

"Why didn`t you do your homework? Did you have a fly...etc"

I will never forget that but it always makes me grin. Trev now still blushes with the story but is grateful in a way as it made him remembered.

unless you have photos of this, it didn't happen. You're wasting your typing fingers.

There's a possibility that someone`s Father might have some Cinefilm of it somewhere but I'm not going to search for it to prove you wrong!

goodo. well, then we'll just go on posting/internet reputations on believability as to who people believe in each case then.

Great, now that's that sorted. Back to the thread then...

Sorry for the poor quality, these are from `normal` photographs taken with a mobile phone.

My childhood dream was to one day own my all-time favourite JAMMA coin-op; the Electrocoin Xenon. Pre-ebay, pre-emulation/piracy, pre-candy cabs, back in the day, my dream came true circa `97:

                  SF2` CE:

                  Rolling Thunder:

                  Ordyne:

                  Alien vs Predator:

                  Final Fight:

                  Robocop:

It`s the sort of thing one does as a gamer, capture the moment no matter what type of image taking facilities are available at the time. Furthermore keeping the photos at hand for the memories. I remember circa `02 dcharlie plastered pictures of 3/4 Sega Astro Cities being delievered to his home at once over the internet. Best thread ever it was.

                  The End. Sayonara.

that's all great, but this does nothing to prove or disprove or cause reasonable doubt on Yakimo's ownership of a AstroCity.

He's in Japan , getting an AC is insanely easy. No photographs doesn't mean a thing.

infact, mentioning the 4 Astros we got just shows how easy it was to get the machines if you live in Japan. It was a phone call order, insanely easy and not very expensive.

gah.... now I'M ****ting up the thread. :/

Could this possibly be the same JAPJAC who has lived in Japan for years yet barely speaks a word of the lingo, living comfortably as he does in his Little Englander gai-jin ghetto?

I guess that's the sort of thing one just does as a gamer?

Not actually play the damn things then.

Anyway back to the topic, just bought a copy of....

...from the Fleabay. Now I know it's inferior to the Saturn version but seeing as I don't currently own an SS i figured i could cope. Gotta love those finishing sequences with the over the top announcements "tatsu-maki-senpu-kyaku!"

Shame about the cover art mind you.

I remember reading that at the time, and wondering just how on earth you can live in another country for so long and have the gall to not bother learning any of the language. It comes across as very arrogant... how do you even earn a living?
