someone from Sweden has two copies of Rainbow islands on the GBC! New!

?23inc each though so im trying to force myself not to buy one
plus it could potentially be fake, although I don't think it is.

The way to tell if Rainbow Islands GBC is legit, its by the wierd box.
The front cover is a like a book cover that folds out with more info on underneath.

Contact the seller about it. I kicked up a fuss when someone sold me one on amazon marketplace and they refunded me my money and didn't ask for the copy back.

I've recently bought an Asian MegaDrive with the switchless mod. Fantastic stuff. Got a few games with it as well including japanese copies of Gunstar Heroes, Aladdin, Sparkster, Quackshot and Strider.
The console came with a stereo RGB cable. I'm amazed how good the picture is on a modernish CRT. Absolutely lovely. Wish I still had my Loewe CRT to run this on.
Gynoug arrived today and I have Hellfire, Red Zone, Truxton and Ranger X on the way.

I've been looking around at other MD games I had years ago and cannot believe the price of some of them ?130 for Slap Fight!!

Hopefully a lot of games can be booted in US or Japanese mode for 60Hz and no borders.

Nice find! My Gamestation is almost dead retro wise Just a few big titles for the PS1 and N64. I was surprised to see Doshin the giant on Gamecube (?8) woulda got it but I'm sticking to NTSC only for Cube titles.

Oh and regards to it being PAL.... watch out Importaku will be round soon with his 1000 reasons why his crazy japanese cocaine-inspired videogames are much better than icky sticky PAL!

Not got a pic of the cart no, I'll ask him for one shortly. I've decided to put it off for now as ?20 is a bit much (even if the game is worth that much)

Is it a decent shooter though? My hazy memory makes me think it wasn't too well received at the time. Or was that the GBA version I'm thinking of?

No one really went mad over it at the time (Mean Machines review here) but it's popular with importers thanks to the gorgeous Japanese coverart, which is heavily inspired by the classic anime movie Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

It's not the best shooter in the world but I have a soft spot for it; it certainly makes a nice change from the usual 'alien space force is attacking earth!' plotline that practically every 2D shooter was forced to have at the time. The music is ace, too.

I've not played the GBA version but I would imagine it's a fairly decent port; I think they added a new 'smartbomb' weapon, too.

God dammit though. Today Play.com was supposed to ship todays releases Chrono Trigger and Castlevania Order Of Ecclesia out to me, suprise suprise, they didnt arrive!!!!
