The short answer not including the handhelds GT and LT, Super Grafx or Shuttle System.
White PCE released 30/10/1987 has RF output only. Which is poor at best, hard to tune needs a TV set with a proper NTSC tuner in it not just NTSC capable like most UK sets are and produces a dark and snowy image.
Can use an AV booster that plugs onto the back for composite out. Released 08/04/1988
Can be used in the CD Interface Unit which has AV output in composite. Released 04/12/1988
Or you can get the PCE RGB modded remove and replace the modulator with a DIN connector and use a scart lead with an amplifier circuit built into it to enhance the colours so they are vibrant and not dark as would be the case without one.
Then the Core Grafx came along on 08/12/1989 the RF no longer features instead it is composite out via an a/v port/cable.
Then on the 21/06/1991 The Core Grafx II appeared, same as the Core Grafx only cosmetically different.
Expansion cards only needed if using CD-Rom.
I'll start with briefcase set up which would originally have been White PCE and CD-RomRom in the interface unit.
Originally it came with the System Card 1.0 when it released on the 04/12/1988 this allows you to play the green spined CD-Rom titles, there followed 2.0 and 2.1 versions which improved load times I think. Oddly Altered Beast requires you to have a 1.0 card otherwise it won't work, again I think as I read it somewhere ages ago but don't have the game. I do have a 1.0 system should I ever need it.
On the 21/09/1991 the PCE DUO was released which is a PCE and CD-Rom in one unit. The CD-Rom comes with the System 3.0 software inbuilt which is the same software as the later Super CD-RomRom comes with. This software allows you to run all CD-Roms (green spine) and Super CD-Roms (pink spine), that's pretty much the entire CD-Rom catalogue covered.
Owners of the original interface could upgrade their system card to achieve the above so negating the need to replace their existing systems they did this buy purchasing the stand alone Super System Card released on the 26/10/1991.
Six months after the Core Grafx II released and three after the DUO, on the 13/12/1991 the Super CD-RomRom came out again has the System 3.0 software built in.
Further revisions of the DUO make appearances on the 25/03/1993 (DUO R) and 25/06/1994 (DUO RX) both are cosmetic changes externally but may benefit from having had later manufactured components used in construction .i.e the capacitors. (hearsay).
If you want to play Arcade CD-Roms (orange spine) on the original briefcase set up you would need the orange labelled Arcade Card Pro this allows you play all CD-Rom games Green, Pink and Orange.
If you own a DUO (all variants) or Super CD-RomRom you bought the Arcade Card DUO, does the same thing.
I think that's more or less right.

Now, before i post my recent PC-Engine purchases, i'm going to put these two little crackers first to keep the ninty boys happy. I've always really wanted a sharp famicom twin, so picked up these brand new sealed copies of castlevania and zelda in preparation for getting the machine. I've................er...........had a trademark change of heart and won't be getting the machine now though so will probably sell them. Had no idea they were so small, it's the first time i've seen them in the flesh, very cool looking wee things!

Now on to the proper stuff, can't deviate the thread away from it's PC-Engine bias.......
Another hori fighting stick. Sold to me as used but appears to be brand new? And a snip at £11.
I've been away at work for a couple of weeks, so i've had far too much time on my hands trying to keep myself out the pub. These are batch one, there are still some packages to be picked up from the post office!
Sealed games. (Untill i finish this post at least!) Was quite surprised to find a sealed lost sunheart.
Couple of CD-Rom's.....
And HuCards. A lot of these are silly ones. The kung fu, must've bought this game about 20 times trying to get a minter, paid £8 for this one which is about £7 more than i paid for the other copies! But thankfully, i finally have a minter!
